Will the SEC continue to expand after the additions of Oklahoma and Texas? On Wednesday, Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne gave his answer...
quote:

"We’re positioned at 16 (teams) for a robust future, the need just isn’t there," the AD said, per Saturday Down South.

UT is not an SEC school. There is nothing southern or southeastern about the the culture in Austin. OU fans are more culturally similar to SEC fans, in terms of their allegiance and diehardedness. UT fans are the ultimate bag wagon fans. This was all about tvs. If the SEC wanted to add 2 SEC type schools, it would have went after Clemson and FSU.

The need wasn't there before just the quest for more money.

We'll probably be adding the "best" from the ACC before long.

We need to target teams that don’t take a decade to join the league.
