Dumbass, did Dye ever admit to any wrongdoings on tape. You are that stupid, have you ever heard of plausible deniability ? That is how the system was set up. Again, how thick are you?

Ramsey tells Dye in the tapes that the asst. coach took care of him and Dye said NOTHING.....then Ramsey asks Dye to help him get a bank loan, and Dye tells him where to go and who to see at Colonial Bank....Bobby Lawder's bank where Dye is on the BOARD OF DIRECTORS!

Man, when you find you've dug yourself into a hole....STOP DIGGING!!

Get a loan Why not just give him the money directly. Believe me I know what went on during that time, you are just to fricked up to understand. Dye knew what was going , but it was design where they couldn't nail him for it. I been saying it in every post, but you are too stupid to figure it out.

What you seem to forget, my rather thick-headed friend is that this isn't a court of law. The NCAA doesn't have to adhere to legal guidelines to arrive at the conclusion of guilt. Apparently, the NCAA was satisfied with Auburn having to make wholesale changes within the coaching ranks...with Dye being the first to walk the plank.

Good night, what a dumbfrick. Dye knew what was going on, just like Bryant, Stallings and Dubose. Please read my fist post on this subject. You paid players so they could make ends meet, that is how it was done. Now they call it cost of attendance. Coaches would lose their jobs when they crossed the line with recriuting. Dye wasn't guilty of that, so firing him was foolish. The four scholarship did not effect them, but they were taken back by the TV ban. They threw Dye under the bus when they didn't have to. Someone wanted to send a message about an accepted practice. It was the same message sent because of the napkin issue a Bama.

You didn't even watch the You Tube/ 60 Minutes acct. did you? The player on film said that $$$ was involved in recruiting at Auburn. Look, don't embarrass yourself any further with ridiculous statements to the contrary...makes you look really bad.....just let it alone.

Please listen again, then tell me the evidence you are talking about out of Dyes mouth. Not Ramsey's or the reporters mouth. Get a loan doesn't cut it.

Not sure why you are so bent on taking the word of Ramsey or Terry Bowden both of whom clearly had axes to grind. It has been said a hundred times in this thread that all head coaches...including Dye know something is going on but it is set up so they don't have connection to it. The 60 minute interview you referenced literally shows Dye doesn't respond on tape but then says Dye told Ramsey later at practice to go to X and get Z. The proof, Ramsey had Z. However it isn't proof Dye told him to do it.

I also have some knowledge of the game and how it was played during the exact era being referenced. Just like it has been mentioned in this thread the info shared by Bowden and Ramsey was not completely false nor an accurate picture of the truth.

I just can't comprehend how the Bama fans can not understand that Dye knew what was going on , but wasn't proven to be guilty of the crime. There is not any Auburn fans who think Dye wasn't complicit to the paying of players, but most feel there wasn't enough evidence to fire him. I thought there was on one or two Dumbass Bama Fans who post here, I was wrong with that number.

I believe the opposite. Based on the time and place it happened his resignation was a stark reality. We stonewalled the NCAA and it wasn't that many years removed from the way they reacted to SMU.

Looking back it was bad timing. We were low hanging fruit. For what they could prove the sanctions were actually pretty severe. Bowden for all his flaws really missed out on the PR boon of 1993 due to the TV, bowl and SEC championship ban.

It has always been my belief that the NCAA realized after hammering bama a few years later that they needed to protect the cash cows which began the slow trickle to a useless figurehead organization that doesn't punish anyone for anything. Heck, I am beginning to believe Ole Miss will get off with just a slap on the wrist. If I were an Ole Miss fan my only concern is the Have's tend to get favorable treatment compared to the Have not's.
