You made a good point and anyone with a brain understood what you mean. Crisp is an idiot that even the Tide fans don't take seriously. Don't let this moron ruin your morning. Just laugh at him like the rest of us do.

Kentucky,North Carolina,Indiana play state schools within their respective states but you pansies won't play UAB.
Do those schools play universities that are a part of their own system?
If not, then this comment is irrelevant because it's a completely different situation.

Why that means anything is beyond me. How do you use that logic when Alabama and UAB play each other in baseball?
With that said,of course. North Carolina has played UNC-Charlotte and UNC Asheville.Tennessee has played UT Chattanooga,Texas has played UT San Antonio and California plays UCLA. LSU played New Orleans several times when UNO was part of the LSU system.
But keep hiding from UAB. Its somewhat fitting.

To answer your question, no, LSU has never played one of their satellite campuses in basketball. They have also never allowed any of them to start a football program. Why is LSU so scared of their satellite campuses? Wouldn't seem to be much of a threat to me.

I wouldn't have a problem if Auburn played Troy, Samford, and South Alabama every year in football. Keep the $$$ in state and help those programs. Alabama would never help a small in state school though with all those dirt bag BOT members they have.

What exactly are we hiding from?
It's amazing how so many people who have absolutely no dog in the fight have such strong opinions of the relationship between UA and UAB.

Can we just sell UAB to the Auburn system and let it be AUB? At least then AU could marry it and could quit giving it BJ's.
Let's just take back our medical school, dental school, and grad. programs and give the rest to Auburn so they can start AUB. Most of the Never To Yield crew posting here are sidewalkers who attended UAB. They can then schedule AUB in basketball and football as well so Gus can get his gimme rent-a-win since Auburn's OOC football schedule is shite anyway.

My theory is that it mostly revolves around football. Since there isn't much of a way to marginalize or "make fun of" Alabama football as it relates to our current role in the SEC, they reach for anything they can grab. The UAB "conspiracy" is what they were able to grab onto and try to paint Bama out to be some big bad corrupt "bully".
I think we're just seeing that bleed over into other sports. Except for basketball it has to be painted as "Bama the cowards" instead of Bama the bullies.

That sums up why UAB will never like or trust UA. You treat them with disdain then expect them to be grateful.

UA BoT pushes UAB to drop football and invest in basketball, but won't do anything to help like actually play them because they are scared they might actually lose in a sport that very few actually pay close attention.

You are better than that. I do not have a link to the sky is blue but I know that as well.
Why would UA not help UAB in basketball by playing them for any other reason. Supposedly, they are in the same system and want each other to succeed. UAB has made it clear in the past they would love to play UA. Seriously, what other reason can you give for UA refusing to play them in basketball?
We just disagree about UAB. I think it is time they separated. UA clearly does not need UAB and there comes a time when institutions grow to a point where the needs of one University might very well contradict with the desires of another within the system.

What evidence do you have to suggest it's because we're "scared"?

Okay let's drop scared. How about they refuse to play because they do not want to help UAB --- a fellow member of their own University System.
I do not know if you remember the Herb Winches radio show, but Alabama's basketball coach Wimp Sanderson called it (the reason) one time.

“We have to play an afternoon game because Gene won’t let us play at night. But you know how that is in Birmingham…And you c***s****** wonder why we don’t play UAB.”

That's a completely different discussion that probably deserves its own time.
It would be a lot more productive than the "Bama is scared" or the "UAB is embarrassed to be associated with Bama" talking points that your fellow posters have created 6 pages of drivel with.
