1997...Ole Miss 36 LSU 21.
Cuban cigars were smoked. true story. look it up
I remember watching this because it was just a week after they'd beaten us. Like how do you knock off #1 and then get popped by Ole Miss at home?

LSU compliance has probably saved LSU on several occasions, not anything malicious but moreso making sure if there was any question that player did not play in games until it was resolved and self reporting to SEC and NCAA, that at least shows you are handling your business in house. That goes along way in this day and age.
You better report everything immediately and hiding is far worse than owning up and fixing it on the front end.

Still cant explain it, or how Ole Miss handles #1 Alabama and then get their shite pushed in by Memphis. there is simply no explanation.

quote:It should, OleMiss has apparently already made big strides to correct the "mistakes" that were alleged in the NOA. I don't see why the NCAA would accept recompense from OM in the area of monetary payments, restricted recruiting, etc. and not accept the self-imposed bowl ban for '17 as well?
Do you know if this years self-imposed bowl ban would count toward the 2 year bowl ban?

JP Sports game that kicked off at 11 CST and LSU came out flat. That LSU team also got spanked at home by an average Notre Dame team later that year, only to return the favor and blow out that same Notre Dame team in the bowl game.

We will see how willing the NCAA is to completely neuter a program, because they will have the option to do so.
Let's be honest, does anyone actually want them punished that severely? Granted they just can't skate with a slap on the wrist or else everybody in the SEC will open up the checkbooks but we shouldn't be rooting for USC type sanctions or worse.

But the widespread allegations spanning multiple sports, multiple ADs, multiple coaches, with a ton of booster involvement is going to draw some serious penalties. Throw academic fraud in the heap, it can't be a pretty sight when the COI gets finished.

It was actually 12/year for 2 years. Probation was 4 years but the scholarships were taken over 2.

I don't see what's the big deal. Will be easier to sway all the #1 recruits at each position on more playing time. Oh and the Grove.

Any news if Freeze will be hit with a show cause?
And I'm not doubting your sources. But 2 year postseason and 20-25 scholly's is pretty much what everyone is thinking.
The ball is in OM's court right now. So unless your friend works for the NCAA, I wouldn't put much faith in those numbers as OM's response to the NOA will have some bearing in the punishment.

When you have a contract that limits termination without compensation (buyout) except for cause, at will doesn't matter, Matlock.

That plus the upper classman can transfer with multi year bowl ban.
Ironically, Shea may never play in a bowl game in Oxford.
