I tend to find people who don't know the difference between "your" and "you're" pretty stupid. Might just be me though.

But the instigator's acted like a woman scorned, and the Tunsil stuff just set them off. They wanted true blood from the football program so they went to the extremes to gather information to build a damaging case so that they could nail y'all with LOIC and Failure to Monitor.

quote:

But wouldn't rhis logical mean that they would cross lines and play in the grey area to get the information they wanted? What if they couldn't find anything? What if there wasn't much to find?

Just play along for a second. Wouldn't that fit the narrative that OM has been saying the entire time? (Yes I realize this is highly unlikely).

Listen, I could act like a jackass and post some shitty response on this. But I can honestly see and understand Ole Miss's narrative the second go 'round of the investigation.

Y'all feel like it was a witch hunt, and that the NCAA took it to the extreme by offering immunity to get to the root of the allegations. I think OM is justified in being pissed with the way the 2nd investigation was handled. That doesn't change the fact that the NCAA found more shady shite hidden in the woodshed though. And that doesn't change the fact that even more "mistakes" were made while the NCAA was already all up in your business.

If even one staffer lied to the NCAA, misrepresented statements in an effort to hide facts, then you will get the guillotine.

Often times it's not about the "mistakes" that were made, it's about being truthful and upfront when they question you. Putting on a front to the NCAA by showing contrition for your mistakes, and acting like your Administration strives to foster an atmosphere of compliance.

The stuff in the amended NOA makes it look like your rogue boosters completely failed to back the frick down and just carried on with their dealings while your program was still under investigation.

No its not. That's going to set them and their recruiting back even further than it already is. A penalty like that would set any team back. You have 25 less players on scholarship by the 4th season...that's extremely detrimental in any conference but especially the sec where quality depth comes into play. That's 60 scholarship players instead of 85 like everyone else. That makes you hit on damn near every player you recruit to contribute and produce. Now take into consideration injuries etc with a roster. Then, you have to consider that they won't be pulling in top talent to oxford either without cheating so the players you do have on schollies aren't so great. It's going to be bad. Don't kid yourself.

we are probably agreeing and don't realize it.. my point was it takes them back to being a bottom feeder non contender. Whether your barely dead or totally dead... you are essentially dead.

2 yr bowl ban means players can leave without sitting out right? When do they expect the punishment to be handed down?

OM more than likely hasn't even responded to the amended NOA yet. Then they have to get on the docket to go before the COI to present their defense, then the COI would have to review the defense and levy whatever sanctions are coming.

I'd venture to guess that even a speedy process from here on out would put the end result 6-9 months from now.

OM has to respond to NOA by the end of May. COI will then have 60 days to consider response and hand down sanctions.

Should know around August.

I think that is likely correct. OM will likely file for some sort of injunction as well. This could drag on for a whilez

How crazy would that be if seniors and juniors start leaving DURING fall camp from OM headed to rival schools free to play this fall.

I don't think you will see a mass exodus of players even if there is a 2 year bowl ban.

I think you are correct, but it'll be more than three, probably less than ten.

If this gets delayed past this season, Shea will be one of them though.

We will see but that likely kills the chances of the NCAA accepting the self imposed ban for this season and does little except make the pain last longer.

All this talk of evidence and proof and lawsuits belies the fact that schools are voluntary members of an organization and can leave any time they wish. You agree to obey the rules and accept the punishments when you join.

Who knows at this point though what will happen

I've heard this as well except for one thing- the 2 year bowl ban and 25 over 4 is the latest OM offer to the NCAA as self-imposed penalties. This is just an Ole Miss Hail Mary
