Ah, here it is. Should I check the Help Board to see if the Mizzou contingent is demanding I be banned? Seems to be y'all's M.O.

Good thing Eric Waters doesn't post on here or you'd be ready to string him up.

You should check out his tweets directly. He was calling out teammates who were acting like they always supported Sam when in fact they were talking about him behind his back. If you saw people you heard constantly talk shite about your roommate and friend turn around and act like media saints would you be cool with that? THAT is what he's reacting to.

As to 'handling it' of course they handled it but individuals don't get to pin an award on their chests for being cool and supportive when they weren't. Calling out those who are attempting to do that is absolutely the right thing for a friend to do.

Exactly.

It's just that y'all have become so predictable on here. Anything that goes against the narrative of Mizzou being the Waltons and you freak.

Just relax and let the facts be revealed. It won't hurt.

Maybe.

Knowing the world as it is in reality, I'm willing to pin something on the anti-gay dude that didn't air his personal grievances out of respect for the team.

That is team, and that is family.

And in this situation, that is Mizzou.

If Eric Waters wants to call the people out that went the entire season knowing without putting the team in a shitty situation and then supporting him after he came out after he came out, even desite their personal feelings, that's on Eric Waters and it's his perogative.

Ok, I'm going to try and explain this using very small words. It doesn't matter if there were players that didn't support his lifestyle, and said some things behind his back. The coaches also said they were sure some people had problems with it at first.

What matters is the effect it had on the team and how they played. It quite obviously didn't matter. The team did very well, and Michael was a consensus All-American and the SEC Defensive co-POY. His being gay did not affect the team, regardless of whether every single player on that team supported his lifestyle. They were still a successful team.

It's like any family. You may not agree with everything a family member does, but they are still family, and you still love and respect them. You might talk shite about your family, but no one else will. Does that help?

Oh. Then I guess you would disagree with the harsh things that have been said about Eric Waters from your fellow fans in this thread.

Good.

There are going to be people that disagree with Eric Waters calling out his teammates for supporting their teammate despite their public statements.

Like I said before, that's on him.

If an anti-gay dude shares an opinion with his teammates about Michael Sam's sexuality but supports him publicly as a teammate, I'd tend to think the guy supporting the gay dude is doing the better deed than the guy calling him out.

I'd imagine you agree.

Oh. So if Eric Waters calls his teammates out for rank hypocrisy, that's on him. Not on his hypocritical teammates. Do you even understand what you are typing?

Heckuva family, there!

It's not his business. And he shouldn't be speaking on a national forum. He had good intentions but he did it the wrong way.

If you have a brother and he's gay, do you support him even though you don't agree and have conversations with your parents about how fricked his sexual lifestyle is or do you just shite on him to everybody?

I'd say there's more dysfunction in the family that disowns your brother, but that's just me.

got it.

No he should have talked to the people or Sam directly.

How are the two options for you "tweet" or "sweep it under the rug"? Are you literally retarded?

What is he like 22? For some reason 22 year old's treat twitter like they are talking to their friends.
His intentions were good

So if your 'family' is disowning Eric Waters, then that family is dysfunctional?

Agreed.

Unless, of course, you're being hypocritical and all.

I get what you're doing and I don't know why I still respond, but I'll respond with this:

If my brother was gay and my mom didn't agree with his lifestyle and still supported him publicly, I wouldn't call her out for not liking my brother's lifestyle and I'd think my mother was being pretty awesome given the situation.

You have an odd perspective if you think those talking shite behind Sam's back deserve an award for acting like football players and doing their damn job. Of course the fact they could lose their scholarships, playing time, and futures if they didn't act like football players, show up, practice and play probably had something to do with how 'nice' they were about it.

As to not 'outing' him until he left?! You think that was 'service' they did for Sam? We're talking about homophobes who fear the gay cooties and the flak they'd take for playing with a gay teammate.

No doubt there were supporters on the team but the ones who were homophobes who've now turned public hypocrites deserve to be called out and he did so without naming names which is more than that kind of person deserves.

The teammates who stood by Sam deserve praise not the fools who talked shite behind his back.
