No one believes it was sunshine and rainbows...well maybe a few rainbows...with Sam and his team.
But the fact that it wasn't leaked and the fact that he was able to function as a leader on the team proves that the team didn't give a shite he was gay.

Of course they did. Even if they did all support him, it's silly to think that a few wouldn't make jokes.

The evidence that the team was united is that Sam told the team before the season started and it never became a thing. We won 12 games, won the SEC East, Sam was SEC DPOY, Unanimous All-American, and voted team MVP by his fellow players. Oh yeah, and even though the entire team, most of Columbia, and many Mizzou fans knew Sam was gay, it never became a thing until Sam decided he was ready to talk about it with the media.
Obviously, with a team of 100+ players there is going to be some bullshite, but overall it worked out well.

I'm sure not everyone was supportive of his lifestyle. And they don't have to be. It's what happened on the field that's important. They didn't let it impact what happened on the field, and they didn't flap their mouths.

Some? According to Waters it was about half the team.
