Manziel made some passes Newton can't make.
Go watch Cam's highlight reel from the UK game and tell me Manziel could make the throw Cam does when he is being slung out of bounds. Pure arm strength on the money

LSU owned him. 86 QBR with shite for yards rushing and little to no passing.
He was a joke.
Cam would be a good answer, but I would have to think about both sides of the ball. That freak Clowney from SCe may have one of the best years I ever saw before he was hurt.
TM7 was the most electric IMO based on his ability to take over a game. He was dynamic.

Manziel threw for 464 yards with 5 TDs and 2 INTs and rushed for 98 yards versus Bama. They scored 42 points. He completed 72% of his passes that day. He torched the hell out of Bama in 2013. Lol
And it took Chablis 1.5 quarters to shut him down. He likely had about a 50 passer rating removing that 1.5 quarter.
Dude is a bum.

I'll take Tebow, newton, then Matt stafford

He was the best. Other SEC teams just don't like knowing a white freshman punky QB could tear their vaunted defenses up the first year in the SEC.

In the past 20 years 3 NFL MVP's have played in the SEC (Cam Newton, Peyton Manning, and Shaun Alexander) and 2 other players that were Super Bowl MVP's (Eli Manning and Hines Ward)
Johnny Manziel was out of the NFL completely in less than 2 seasons and only started 8 games with a 2-6 record... sounds like the best to me!

College football ma'am. We were talking college football

No shite. And Manziel wasn't the best at that either.
There's a lot of variables that can make a college player look better than he really is at the college level. The NFL weeds puts everybody on a level playing field and weeds out the pretenders from the elite and shows what players were truly good.
Not that we needed that, because even judging just from college careers Manziel isn't even the best SEC player at his own position in the last 10 years, let alone best SEC player period in the last 20.
Just at the QB position in the last 10 years alone:
1. Cam Newton
2. Dak Prescott
3. Tim Tebow
4. Johnny Manziel
Go back to 20 years like OP said and both Manning brothers are ahead of him.
That's just at QB. Throw in every position and the number of players better than Manziel...
RB: 5 or more
WR: 3 (Jones, Green, Evans)
OL: At least 2, probably more like 5
Defense: literally dozens.
Manziel is definitely a top 50 SEC player in the last 20 years. That's for sure. That's something gonna proud of, so don't get all up in arms.

Yes, that's an NFL MVP who quarterbacked his team to the Super Bowl.
He also won his college team a National Championship like a player who's actually Heisman worthy should.
Von Miller is also a much much better player than Manziel, but he played in the Big 12 so fortunately for Manziel that's one less player who qualifies to be ranked ahead of him for this list.

johnny manhumper has better prospects for a career in gay porn than he does in football. that schit he does doesn't work on the pro level. brandon allen has more of a pro career than johnny manhumper.
let that sink in.

Johnny Football. Best SEC player in last 20 years?
statistically, Manziel was probably the top player of the last 20 years but no one in their right mind would take him on their team above Tebow or Cam at just the quarterback spot and I'm not sure I wouldn't take David Greene or Stafford over him in that spot. Then you add in other positions.
Lets look at defense:
Petterson
Honey Badger
Patrick Willis
Eric Berry
Dorsey
Pollack
On Offense:
Gurley
Henry
DMac
I would even take Barret Jones over Manziel. His ability to play any spot on the line.
Does Peyton fall under 20 years?
Jordan matthews
Mike Evans
AJ Green
Julio Jones.
These are all guys I would want on my team before Manziel and it isn't just the off field antics.
