Can we give the baseball coach a full season? He was a quality hire but will take time to cut his teeth. As for basketball, the talent level will be better next year than it ever has been at AU as a whole. The roster was decimated over the course of this season. You also forget the improvements in women's sports.

But continue with your rant. As bad as the AU administration is/is portrayed to be, some of the fans are even worse. Instant gratification junkies.

All of this. Don't know what brought on this whiny bitch of a rant.

He knows the wheels are coming off the Gus Bus. He knows that Bruce left his heart in Knoxville. He knows that if things continue down this path, Auburn is done, it's over.

I have heard this whole "but...next year, but...next year, but next year" crap from both our baseball AND basketball programs for a very long time now.

I am frankly tired of this shite.

So do you propose firing the baseball and basketball coaches?

Gus will have a bounce back year and Pearl has total control of his program, so Jacobs career will not depend on them. If you know anything about AU, you would know that JJ doesn't run the day to day operations at AU. As long as the rest of the SEC (TN, UGA, LSU, Ark) is just as fricked up as AU, Jacobs has a cushion. Until those other show major signs of life, Jacobs will be allowed to be the figurehead.

We've just fired the baseball coach, the basketball coach and the football coach all in a 5 year time-frame...that were supposed to get better results than the coaches before them...and the ones before them...and, et. al...for a new batch that are repeating the process.

I am not seeing a positive pattern here.

Jay Jacobs hired all of them.

So either it is bad job by the AD, or just a really great time to quit a million dollar coaching opportunity by these "failing" coaches who seem to keep being showed the door out.

NtY is going to hunt you down over this post. I'm pretty sure you've violated the AU fan policy by not falling in lockstep agreement with the official position.

We won an SEC championship in football three years ago. Sure last year wasn't good, but you can't expect a green head coach to not have a few bumps in the road. I'm not ready to throw in the towel on football because of a 7-6 season.

We had a bad basketball season because we were hammered with injuries. We were decent at the start of the year and the 15, 16, and 17 classes are going to be the three best we've ever signed. Really though, if you think we can do better than Pearl, then you're delusional.

Don't really follow baseball, so I'm not going to comment on that.

How many ex-HCs are still on the AU payroll these days? Serious question.
