I freaking hate that he completely ignored our Swimming program after Marsh left.

We actually had a very good coach after Marsh, but the guy died of a brain tumor.
I think the Hope scholarship in Georgia has hurt us in swimming as well. We can't compete with that.

I have heard this whole "but...next year, but...next year, but next year" crap from both our baseball AND basketball programs for a very long time now.

I am frankly tired of this shite.

It sounds like you might be too invested in college athletics. No matter the sport/program, new coaches have to build a team. Very, very few step in and immediately have success. You're just not being realistic

Jay Jacobs has the AU AD making money, they aren't in the crosshairs of the NCAA, the athletes are graduating, he is a good fundraiser, he built the Arena, and is about to undertake +$150mm stadium renovation. WTF else do you Aubs want him to do? Coach the damn teams?

Richard Quick. I was a student at AU and worked in the Aquatics Center when he won the NC in 2009. Quick was the HC at The University of Texas and at Stanford University before accepting the job at Auburn.

His last meet on the Plains was the SEC Championship when we hosted. He already knew that he had inoperable brain cancer, and just sat at the bottom of the steps of the Aquatic Center the whole meet...just taking in the excitement.

Great Man!

I understand that, but in order for our coaches to build success at Auburn, we simply must quit firing the ones we have. That might go a long way in the ole' record books.

Jay Jacobs.

This is a desperate cry for an improvement in the Auburn AD position.

We are now taking applications.

Can we take out a loan?

We need it with all of these "coaching improvements" over the last decade.

We're shooting blanks, man.

-Headline just now on Auburn website.

Keep it up, JJ. Let's shoot for the fricking moon in your career. Just came up short...yet again.

Firing JJ right now will further destabilize your athletic department. A few years ago Gus and Bruce were slam dunk hires which both deserve more time.

How do you fire him when the AD is making money, has made huge improvements....the Arena and the proposed +$150mm stadium renovation on the slate......no NCAA troubles, solid contract negotiations, lucrative contracts with Under Armour, the new media/radio deal, etc. ???

You make an excellent point, but if Auburn athletics continues to decompose in the shitter, those facilities won't be visited by their supporters and the sports equipment folks will fade away...you gotta win to be relevant!
