That is an UGLY string of late collapses under Sherman there.

Personally I see the Arkansas defense as likely being a tale of two halves next year. Shaky in the beginning as we try to replace what we lost and then solidifying towards the end of the year. Average out to be in the 4-8 range.

Barring, of course, a rash of injuries. We aren't the deepest team in the SEC and much like the Vols a handful of injuries in key places could cripple us.

Here's the thing though: Any analysis of Sherman prior to 2008 would have told you it would happen.

Multiple collapses by the Texans as their O/C.
Let's not forget "4th and 26".

I would pity A&M more but the horror of the John L. Smith season of doom at Arkansas is too strong for me.

Mind you, the two games we beat you when Sherman was coach I never thought that the Aggies were hopelessly outclassed on the field. It was clear you guys had a lot of talent... they just collapsed under pressure. At least the JLS season was one and done. I don't think my liver could have handled multiple seasons of late game collapses.

I'd argue that we were outclassed in 2009. Not so much in 2010 and 2011.

About the same as last year : Arkansas
If that's the case then Arkansas will be no lower than #2-3 in the SEC. We were #10 nationally in total defense last year.

Bama and OM at the top. Many of you are criminally overrating LSU. They have not been as good the last couple of years, last year finishing like 7th in the SEC. They are smallish, and now they lose their great DC and replace him with our LB coach who has been a failure as a DC everywhere he has been outside of working under Saban. I would take Arky and possible UGAs defense as well as Bama and OM before LSUs 2015 unit. LSU in for another very disappointing 8-4ish type year in 2015.

We were #10 in the entire nation. Tennessee does not have a better defense than Arkansas. You just don't.

Literally EVERY OTHER POSITION will be improved.
We're the exact mirror except we lost talent on the D-Line instead of linebacker. Every other position will have more depth and be improved. Only difference is Tennessee is improving from dogshit and we're returning 8 starters on a nationally top 10 defense.

I agree. Their secondary is good, but last year they got gashed up the middle by multiple teams. If their run D doesn't improve drastically, they'll be no higher than 6th.

East will be:

1. UGA
2a. Florida
2b. Missouri
4.Tennesse
5. USC
6. Kentucky
7. Vandy

Frick the west...
But I do think UGA will finish 1 or 2 in the conference

I wouldn't say dogshit, but no not as good as Arkansas. We were also playing ALOT of freshmen, more than anyone in the country.

I don't see your defense improving, but with your offense improving, if your defense is anywhere close to what it was last year, Hogs are gonna be dangerous.

What do y'all lose on defense? I can't name a single Arkansas player on defense.

Iunno. A&M played an absurd amount of freshman on defense, Watts, Henderson and Garrett all started Day 1, with tons of other freshman seeing significant playing time.

Was not trolling, everything I said was and is factually true. LSU no longer has an elite defense, DWI.

Considering the experience Bama brings back, I'd be surprised if Bama wasn't #1 this season.

A&M's defense the last 2 years is the worst major college defense fundamentally I have ever seen. I've never seen so many guys (a) out of position (b) avoid blocks at the LOS (c) miss tackles and (d) just give up.

Can't even begin to say how much fun it was to watch.

Prove me wrong. Where did LSUs defense finish ranked last year? Are you not smallish on the front 7 suddenly? Did you not replace a nationally respected DC with our LB coach who sucked as a DC at Clemson? You've got nothing.
