Still think they'll be really good, maybe even the best statistical defense in the league. Probably should have had in the "same" category I guess.

Kentucky won't have the worst defense in 2015.

Y'all played us very well last year. Remind me who will be your studs this year. TIA

Tre white, Jamal Adams, Jalen Mills, Kendall Beckwith, Davon Godcheaux, Christian lacouture

Also have Lamar Louis and Deion jones at linebacker and Ricky Jefferson and Dwayne Thomas at db who will all make solid contributions

If Rashard Robinson returns add another one to the list

Only teams that could be better than are A&M, South Carolina and Vanderbilt, IMHO. A&M is a wild card. They won't be great, but they had a lot of young guys playing last year and have a pretty good d-coordinator. I could see them slide into "semi-competent" aka 9-10 range.

11. Vanderbilt

13. South Carolina
14. Texas A&M

This is closer to what I would expect, but I would probably shuffle the bottom 5 up some.

What is the category?

Case in point, 2011 Oklahoma State was #2 in turnovers forced behind LSU.

I'd gladly accept that.

I was posting my guess on defensive efficiency, which includes turnovers and everything

LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, are all going to be very salty. MSU will probably take a step back with all the personnel loss. Same for Arkansas. A&M should improve from terrible to merely bad.

DGAF about the East tbh

ETA: Although Bama really does need some DB's to step up.

Yet allowed 26.8 points per game, which would be 11th in the SEC in 2014, 10th in 2013, 9th in 2012, 10th in 2011, 10th in 2010, t-11th in 2009, and 11th in 2008

Wow. It's not that hard to make this list so it's a little confusing how you could screw it up.

Chief could provide this. All you need is 4 NFL CBs and 3 NFL safeties.

Oh yeah, one of those needs to be a player like Tyrann Mathieu. So, good luck.

A&M will at least be fundamentally better. I've never seen a group that tried to run around blocks more than that team. One of if not the worst fundamentally sound defense I have ever seen. Chief will at least have them in the right spots. I anticipate they will be a lot like Auburn's 2010 defense. If they get you behind the chains they will unleash Garrett and create some havoc, but their run defense will be a disaster (for the 17th straight year).

Honest question - where would you put Arkansas? I had them at 6, but I can't move them much higher than 5.

Chief doesn't "unleash" anyone in pass rush. Garrett better learn to play the run or he's going to have a bad time in Chavis' scheme.

Meh, he'll make plays on the QB like some of LSU's great d-ends did in 2008-2012.

But yea, I agree in principal. The Mustang is much more suited to a wait and see than a go get them approach.

Quite frankly, I always thought Chief was pretty much a caretaker at LSU. He wasn't bad, but I never thought he was some sort of gamechanger. He was running vanilla sets with 10 NFL players behind it. It worked a lot because the personnel was incredible and they tackled well in space and made football plays in the secondary.
