We all know that Dabo is going to be Saban's replacement, so AU will be in position to make a long run if Gus can turn it around this year.
Dabo Swinney will have stepped into a machine built by Nick Saban, after the guy just turned Clemson into a machine. There will be a drop off, but not something Auburn fans will hope for.

Dabo has a lot of the qualities that Mike Dubose had. He will have to deal with the success of Saban and do everything in his power to maintain it. This sometimes leads to trouble.

I wouldn't classify it as "gimmicky junk". When he had Tre Mason (who was severely underrated as a running back) and that Marshall guy at quarterback, they were an extremely talented offense. I just don't think he's had that type of quality since they graduated.

And what qualities would that be?

Again, Dabo Swinney will be stepping into a machine. He could probably win a championship or 2 with the players already in place. Think, Larry Coker and Gene Chizik.

Take into account that he rebuilt Clemson and won with offense and defense at different times, and he seems to know what he's doing. He really got smart when he hired Chad Morris, and got even smarter when he fired Kevin Steele.

ACC, enough said.

Both are products of the Bama program, both speak out of Southern Coaches Phraseology Book and sound like HS coaches. Both know the pressures of trying to keep winning programs and when faced with any adversity will resort to the Southern Coaches Handbook for Success (wink, wink). Both have or will face a group of alumni who do not think they portray the proper image for the University.

Yea, that ACC team just took Alabama to the wire in the Nation Championship, and has also recently beaten South Carolina, Auburn and LSU.

Those are SEC teams.

I fully blame Gus Malzahn for the quarterback position right now. That is the only real issue on offense

So having a bunch of ATHs at WR that couldn't catch balls dropped perfectly in their hands last year wasn't an issue? Play calling in he redzone wasn't an issue? Putting ALL the eggs in the JJ basket without a backup plan and failure to adjust for SW wasn't an issue?

SC was terrible last year and almost won, AU was average that year and still played them close at Clemson. Winning in the ACC is about beating FSU, the rest of the league is average at best .

Quarterback is an issue whether you like it or not. Only Sean White lovers blame everything else.

So, basically, they won — like I said.

It doesn't matter if you win by 1 or 40, winning is winning.

You have no reason to think Dabo Swinney is a bad head coach.

I didn't say it wasn't. But you did say that QB is "the only real issue" which is just blindly stupid. There are several contributing factors and issues which made the QB issue worse than it needed to be.

Nobody said he was a bad coach, neither was Dubose or Chizik. Some coach are just not a good match at certain programs.

The main contributing factor being the head coach.

The quarterbacks on roster either don't fit the system, suck or can't stay healthy. You won't convince me otherwise. I have no faith in Tyler Queen, Jeremy Johnson, Sean White or JFIII. Woody Barrett is a wait and see approach.

A lot of HC's only know one side of the ball. I would love to see saban call an O.
