What coordinator worth a damn is going to take the risk of moving his family for a coach that only has 1 year to turn it around?

This didn't work out well for Roper or Muschamp.

If he was going to change it should have been this year.

So are you saying we shouldn't make any co-coordinator changes this year because we are not making a change of Head Coach this year, like it or not?

If Mac was guaranteed a 5th year into 2019, what OC would consider coming here?

Also, Mac probably believes that Nuss isn’t the problem. It’s the players incompetence. If Mac is here, Nuss will be here as well. We just need to deal with it I suppose. I hate it though.

I agree, it's a problem. Believe his former OC from Colorado State is at Oregon State right now, may be the best he can get under the circumstances.

I'd have zero issue with Stricklin making a move, just don't think it's the likely scenario. If Mac refuses to fire Nuss, then that changes everything IMO.

If Mac doesn't fire Nuss he is going to have an incredibly short leash next year.

No doubt it would be a pretty bad hire and met with a thud in Gainesville

No. It's just the same situation we were in with Year 4 of Boom.

It's a tough spot. If I'm a good OC do I want to go where the coach may be fired after the season.

It's a great way to screw up your career.

If we were going to change OCs then it should have been last year . Now we would be hiring an OC and giving him a year to fix the offense while our head coach does nothing . If Mac was a great recruiter or a defensive guy then it would make more sense to hire a new OC . If our problems on offense are so big that Mac can't get them fixed in 3-4 years with out a great OC then he doesn't belong here .

What does Mac bring to this team ? Does anyone know . At least Muschamp could recruit and keep the defense on point .

I'm curious, how absolute would your commitment to McElwain be? Let's say we reached out to Scott Frost and found out he's interested over Nebraska, would you consider the move or go all in on Mac?

This I can get behind. If we're gonna set UF back a decade... frick it. Let's go all out. Make this so football gods... make it so.

There is a near zero percent chance this is the case... He's a legend at Nebraska, they're desperate... UF is easily the better job, but circumstances likely drop it down.

I think he ends up there (although the new AD could throw a wrench into things), just curious how some would feel given such a scenario.

Yeah I know someone who really likes Mac....his ex QB at Bama, Greg McElroy who was coached by Mac...he even said tonight on SECN that UF "fans" wanting to fire Mac are crazy.

I think Greg is one of the brightest most knowledgable sports news media guys out there. He can break down games and explain what was/is going on and teach facts most don't.

People made these same excuses for Muschamp in year 3 because of the injuries.

Because we lost to Georgia Southern.

Texas motherfricking A&M hung with Alabama the whole game. This isn't Georgia Southern (who beat us more than A&M did, outgained us and outplayed us).

frick, the disrespect you guys are giving to the Aggies right now is unreal.

So because one of Macs former players likes him then we should too .

Do you believe Mac will be our coach in 2019 ?

What has Mac done to earn another year other then win with Muschamp defense?

Do you feel that Nuss should be fired and Mac should try to hire a better OC to help make up for his lack of recruiting and his poor offensive game plan ?

Knowing what we know about Mac would you even consider him over Frost , Fuentes , Norvel , Brohm ?
