Added more to the bottom of the post

One of my favorite things, admittedly a dirty pleasure, during this historic run is to read upcoming opponents message boards before games. I bookmark the "good ones" so I can revisit them after the game to see if they still feel the same way. If the outcome is what I think it'll be they'll be some good ones this go around. Below are some of my favorite takes so far.

On Saban:
quote:

I also find it funny that they think he is head and shoulders above and a better coach than Harbaugh

quote:

Easy to win championships when you can buy talent. Don’t get me wrong Saban can coach but his life was made a hella lot easier by having better talent than the other teams he faced. Every time a rule got change Saban started whining about unfair it is to his team. That is why I have no respect for him!

On Harbaugh being better than Saban
quote:

It goes into most of the teams were Harbaugh’s B teams because players were sitting out.
Please don’t bring up bowl records if you want to be taken seriously.

quote:

I don't get the Sabans the best if all time, that's just counting titles. He has only won where he can buy better players then most. Now that other programs are starting to steal his players he has started whining about it. I'll take JH over him Jim has won big everywhere. No way saban does that at Stanford or 49ers, San Diego was damn impressive as well. Saban great yeah best hell no not when you can only win with far superior rosters. I'll take Urban over Saban too. Dabo 2-2 against him too, look at him now that other programs can pay players. This era is all about cash thats big reason why he has done so well

quote:

we have the two gifts from the football gods on our side and Harbaugh is every bit as a good a coach as Saban.

On Milroe
quote:

Milroe is Alex Orgi but getting run because they don't have any other option. Milroe wouldn't start for Michigan at this moment. He won't show the defense anything they haven't seen because we have a bigger version of him on the roster.

quote:

JJ is better than Milroe and it isn’t close in my opinion.

quote:

He is an awful thrower when made to stand in the pocket his arm strength is bad.

quote:

Why are you so afraid of a QB who was benched?

quote:

Milroe was benched at one point this season because he was so bad.

Overall Thoughts
quote:

Their big fat offensive line is going to get worn out by our depth on defense.

quote:

I doubt Alabama’s defense is as good as Iowa’s— and we beat those guys So…

quote:

So Amazing how GREAT They looked against Auburn and South florida and 3 other games they dont come to mind they played close in.

I'll stop but there's many more out there.

*UPDATE*
Wanted to add a few more since we’re less than a week away
.

quote:

I think we run it down their throats against their soft Lbs and win by 2tds

quote:

I’d take our LB crew over theirs all day

quote:

You win in the trenches and I would take both our lines over there’s. And that kid QB is going to be exposed big time.

quote:

GA really played like dog **** against Bama...

quote:

Saban and smart are better than Day. Not as good as Jim, but don’t need to when the talent is so much better.

quote:

i'm counting on those fat bama linemen to run out of gas....we have the deepest rotation at that position in the country.

quote:

In reality, Alabama's schedule was only slightly more difficult than Michigan's was.

quote:

If we get blown out 41-17 it's because we **** the bed and not because Bama is that much better than us

quote:

They are delusional. The've played a bunch of SEC nobodies other than Texas or Georgia

quote:

we scored 30 on that ohio defense, we will top 30 on anyone we play. jmo.

quote:

Which matchups favor the Crimson Tide? QB? No. RB's? No. TE's, No. DL? No. LB's, equal. Maybe their OL, but what else?

quote:

Their WRs are not an edge vs our secondary.

quote:

Alabama doesn’t have any elite wide receivers, running backs, or tight ends. Milroe is a decent not great passer. Keep him from running crazy and I don’t see how they outscore us

quote:

They don't have a TE on the level of Loveland and he should be able to do work vs their LBers who are pretty avg in coverage. Plus, I trust JJ's ability to get our guys the ball more than Milroe. I think Milroe is gonna struggle against Minter's D.

quote:

Bama D isn’t in the top 20 of any statistical category and the played some really bad teams!! Think about that. UM is in top 6 in all, offense stats, UM is in top 25 in two category, Bana in none! Not sure what everyone sees here….

quote:

JJ is the most talented QB they’ve faced

quote:

OSU’s wr/TE group is significantly better than Bama.

Proving this dumbass didn’t watch anything on Milroe

Regarding that Saban rambling. There’s plenty on this site that believe it too. Particularly mizzoubuckeyeiowa over on the MSB. Guy is probably the biggest Bama non-troll hater on this site and has made numerous posts calling Saban completely unimpressive

Saban’s record against Kirby nukes this argument

I doubt Alabama’s defense is as good as Iowa’s— and we beat those guys So…

They put up 206 yards

quote:

his arm strength is bad.

Lol

You can always look at things through a certain lens. Hilarious their takes on “buying talent”.

Some of Nick’s best players were 3 stars. That’s often overlooked.

They can bring up the fact Harbaugh has had less talent to work with but I can also point out how easy their baby dick schedules are. They play zero p5 non conf games. The BIG10 is filled with terrible offenses. They get to prepare all season for one game in Ohio State.

Zero arm strength?!?!?!

The kid can flat footed throw a football 70 fricking yards, at hit what he's throwing at.

Damn, the delusion is skrong with this bunch.

They are just trying to convince themselves they can win.

Deep down they felt the same way their team did when the matchups were announced.

Ppl think that because he doesn't use his lower body properly when throwing. He's all arm. It does in fact mean he has a super strong arm but it doesn't always translate because he's not using proper technique.

Milroe has to get with a QB coach in the offseason and do what Hurts did. Work on his throwing form and throwing motion. He has to start using his plant foot and lower body.

Gonna be a tough New Year's Day for this bunch if our team does what they're capable of doing.

I’ve seen less trash at a landfill…

These guy have clearly never watched a single Bama football game. And the Saban argument is pure stupidity. It’s not even worth me typing out a counter-argument haha

That guy has clinical levels of hate for Alabama

And he swears he’s my age(33) but talks knowledgeably about 1950s football like he was there.

I’m onto you, mizzoubuckeyeiowa!

ETA: No matter the topic, dude has callbacks and makes points using teams from half a century ago, every time. I just know this guy is 75+

Admittedly I have done that too. One of the best was reading the Michigan ST. boards before the 2015-16 Cotton Bowl (which some were cautious because the 2010 Capital One Bowl) and of course the ND board before the 2012 championship. Needless the say the Domers were much more quiet before the 2020 Cotton Bowl.

100%

If he had really good mechanics he’d have an absolutely ridiculous arm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him use his left side for leverage or snap his hips through the throw.

I almost think it’s helped him on short to intermediate passes. If he had an efficient delivery he’d be throwing those passes 1000 mph and likely all over the place. Because he does it SO often, he’s got pretty damn good touch with his touch pass style throws.

All this from a fanbase whose coach went to never-before-seen levels of cheating to be able to beat Ohio State, the one good team they play every year. And Ohio State has clearly not been the same since losing Meyer.

The best part, to me, is the condescending "Dabo is 2-2".... Which is true, but those were CFP games and what bowl games was UM showing its greatness while Bama happened to be losing playoff games?

But in all fairness. I think people are incorrectly writing UM off. Bama needs to be very good, very disciplined to win.

I’ve worked in Michigan a few times in the past and their fan base is probably the biggest pricks I’ve ever met. They believe that everything revolves around them in the cfb universe.

2007 I was working in Grand Haven when OSU was playing Florida for the title. This particular Michigan fan was talking a lot of shite how the buckeyes was going to run over Florida in that game for about 2wks up to the game. Two days before the game I called his bluff about making a $1k bet.

He didn’t won’t to for that amount so I baited him by offering him OSU +7 for $1k. He ran his mouth so much that everyone looked at him and basically shamed him to take the bet. OSU was favored but I knew Florida was going to beat that arse. Florida won that game and he never spoke another word about football again
