Man, I gotta get off the UM forums and Reddit. There’s people there that genuinely believe Bama is the third best team they’ll play this year behind OSU and PSU.

LoL... I hear you. I will say Rutgers looked like a power house this afternoon - reminding me of an SEC team, beating up on poor Miami. Perhaps the B1G is a tougher conference this year; that tOSU and Michigan are stronger foes than we think, with a much stronger schedule than advertised?

Naahh, I don't buy it either. I want Harbaugh to be tasting his milk around the 3rd quarter...

Their qb likes to throw to their TE so we need to make sure he is as covered as Bowers was in the seccg.

I hope we smash Michigan so bad the Harbaugh leaves and their program falls into the abyss like Texas after the 2009 season.

and of course the ND board before the 2012 championship. Needless the say the Domers were much more quiet before the 2020 Cotton Bowl.
made the mistake of doing touchdown shots of Jameson during that game. The hangover after that game was intense. I'm pretty sure i didn't make it to midnight that New Year's.

1. Our WRs v their CBs - Funny thing about this is there is no expectation that we'll have any success here. Rational Michigan fans understand that we don't have the horses on the outside this year, conversely Alabama's secondary is fantastic. I actually think this is a good thing for Michigan. I'd much rather have their best defensive unit matched up against our weakest. It's like wasting an Ace against a 2 in a card game of War. But also, if we do get some early success from this unit it could demoralize them a bit.

2. Our TEs v their LBs/safeties? - Obviously this should be a big advantage for Michigan. MGoBlog crew thinks their LBs run in the wrong direction often, and/or just aren't very good. Not much more to say here.

3. Our OL v their DL - Zinter's injury could end up being the difference. But I feel like G Barnhart/T Jones might not be all that much of a step down compared to G Zinter/T Barnhart. While their DEs are expert, their DL is supposed to be, not. We SHOULD be able to run between the tackles a bit, and that to me will be the most important aspect of this side of the ball for me. I'll take 4/5 yards to grind and possess all game.

4. Minter v Milroe - Not sure why I am putting this at #4 because this is the most important key to the game for me. Sure, Milroe has improved and has cut down on mistakes since Texas. But I still think Minter can show this young QB coverage looks that he hasn't seen (see MHJ's post Michigan game comments) as well as pressure/stunts to add enough pressure to force him into inaccurate throws and/or costly mistakes.

5. Our DL/DEs v their OL - They had 2 5* freshmen LTs until recently. Proctor won the job and the other guy is now off the team. While Proctor is obviously talented enough to start as a freshman at LT for Alabama, he's still just a freshman. And the rest of their line isn't supposed to be fantastic. Meanwhile our DEs & DLs are very good and very deep. Just feels like they'll strengthen throughout the game and Minter will dial up some stunts (which have been killer) and just enough blitzes to make this a great matchup for Michigan.

6. Our spies/LBs v Milroe's legs - This will clearly be an important matchup as well. Milroe doesn't want to run, he wants to be a pocket passer. UGA at times had 2 spies standing in no man's land. Hindsight is 20/20, but what a mistake that was. I can't imagine Minter deciding to do that. Better to use those guys either in coverage or to pressure the pocket. Barrett/Colson are about as good as we've had in the last few years to combat Milroe's scrambles.

I love it, a classic "Our weaknesses aren't that weak and their strengths aren't that strong" post. Highlighted some examples.

These guys are in for a very rude awakening. The part you highlighted in point #5 is hysterical.

I was browsing their forum and came across that one too.

A lot of them have weird opinions about our "lack" of great players and a very homeristic view of all their future "first rounders."

I expect a big, slowish Michigan team. And the biggest problem for Michigan is, unlike in the past, they are actually favored. Normally Bama comes in cool and confident and systematically dismantled teams like this. But this time we come in with a higher intensity and put a quick stop to this nonsense.

You know, except playing against the guy who won the Heisman trophy. I guess he wasn’t talented according to the Michigan folks.

We also faced Quinn Ewers. Obviously not a good result that night but he and Daniels are better than McCarthy.

Daniels and Ewers are clearly better than McCarthy. You gotta be a deranged homer to think otherwise.

I'd say he's in the Dart or KJ Jefferson territory tbh. Frankly, Dart's profile of capable leader of an effective offense that has not played well in big games is pretty much JJ McCarthy.

The media has using the excuse that he was injured the last few games. I’m not sure that I buy it. His slide coincided with the schedule toughening up and the spying scandal.

I actually asked several pundits on Twitter where they got the injury information and not a single one could answer me with anything.

Also apparently UM changed their film watching protocols after we did? Why? Did we get caught stealing songs lol.

Just from my browsing tonight, they are saying that because OSU is containing Mizzou that it proves OSU is better than UGA and Bama. And since they beat OSU that it means they’ll beat us.

Yeah, I’ve never heard what his alleged injury was. The media has covering for those cheaters since day one. They shouldn’t even be playing in the postseason.

Mizzou is about to beat OSU so that argument is out the window. Transitive property isn’t applicable right now in my opinion.

They have a right to be more confident...

This OSU team is missing it's starter and backup QB. They are missing their best player (WR) as well. They have their defense but any team playing their 3rd string QB and missing one of the best WRs in the country is going to be much worse.

Yet they have kept the game close with an almost full strength Mizzou that was dominate in the SEC and only barely lost their two games.
