If this kid thinks he can get more NFL ready at ole miss that at LSU with Cam he is totally nuts.

Amadi's commitment should tell us something. Chavis was the chief (pun intended) recruiter.
Should we be able to establish a verticle passing game it would be most diffcult to contain our running game. With creative play calling we should control every game.

My concern is this...after a full spring, a fall practice and 4-6 months into the season Mettenberger was not recognized as being better than Jefferson and/or Lee, what makes everyone believe he is "the answer". I think it's wait and see and hope he turns out to be what's advertised.

Pensacola Tigers having a crawfish boil at Shooters this afternoon. Eat the bugs and watch the game.
Otto, very accurate analysis. To win you must have good players. LSU will never be a "one and done" program. They will have to recruit good players from all over with the intention of building a program where players will stay 3-4 years. A good example of a high profile program is Syracuse. The do get players that leave early but they have a mix of outstanding players that stay.

Personally, I think to get an outstanding coach, a commitment in dollars and longevity must be made. Dale and LSU made a commitment to each otherr and he proved you can win at LSU. A must - the new coach has to recruit wherever good players are (example-Willams, Greg Cook, Rudy, Sims, etc.) Thanks for your post.

Les needs to hire an OC he likes and trusts and let him run the offense. Much like he does not fool with Chavis' defense.

tigerprl, it's sad that you post such nonsense. You wouldn't want a Gen. Studies graduate pump your gas?...are you nuts. One GS grad I know is the President of one of the souths largest homebuilders, another (they don't know each other) is RE Developer on the Gulf Coast and another is a Regional Manager for a large national manufacturer. You may not understand that to get a degree in GS one has to pass real courses. You should research what a student must do before making these comments. You may not be aware of the opinion of many analysts nationwide that the high cost of degrees from the Ivy League, Stanford and others does not have the value they sell. Also, to lump all GS majors with an athlete who's goal is to get to the league is foolish.

However, that being said, Have a Happy New Year and Geaux Tigs!

I still like this Coach. He can coach, the tough part is recruiting. He has a real opportunity with LA. kids this year. If he has success, he will be on his way.
Is there a stat for "almost giving up a sack"?
Maybe I can be some help. I played BB at BRHS for Coach Burge...My Jr. year we finished 2nd in state and won the State Championship my senior year. We had our 50 year reunion for that team in 2004...amazingly all of us were still alive.
Gerald Walter, Attorney in BR gave a presentation in memory of Coach. Mrs. Burge loaned Gerald Coach's scrap book and "The Picture" was in it and was much better than the one here. You may want to call Gerald or Mrs. Burge...Your father would probably know how to reach her.
I won't bore people about Coach Burge but do let me say he was incredible and still enjoys the deepest respect from all of those who played for him.
If you would like to call me I am in Daphne, AL

Buzwa, thanks for the link. Having played at BRHS long ago I do have some problems with his choices. Jim Taylor, yep, the Green Bay guy, was a high school all-american and a 3 year all-state player. Our coach was Pete Burge...in 3 years coaching us we won 3 district championships, runner up in state and the state championship in '54. He also produced 3 all state players. And the #1 coach on this list, Altobello, we beat him in the semifinals 2 years in a row. And, he never (like in NEVER) beat a Pete Burge coached team. And Bob Pettit on the 2nd team....ridiculous! Does make for interesting talk though.
