re: Where to watch in Europe?
Posted by waveprof on 8/24/18 at 2:05 pm
We have a VPN to enable our son to watch European children's programing in the USA. It works pretty easily in that direction. Can't speak about the other way around as I've never tried to watch American sports when I was in Spain. I did listen to a few minutes of a radio call of a Tulane game once, through streaming. Didn't need a VPN for it

Enjoy Europe and worry about college football later :nana:

I was thinking 5-6 wins. Now maybe 7-8. No way LSU gets to 10 this year.

It's "Roll Wave." Not everything "geauxs" just because it is in Louisiana

Tulane doesn't run the triple option. Even though the media likes to say they do all the time.

Not hurting for a starting QB at all. We are set. Hurting for depth. We have a guy who may start in a year already sitting out this year for transfer rules. After that its a true freshman and a redshirt sophomore who was a WR a year ago. McMillan will get a good chance to compete to start in a year (though its 50/50), but the real "reason" we want him is to have a solid #2 this year, because we don't have one.

"I don't think that's true, JJ. I'm no expert, but I don't think a baseball player can get TOPS in lieu of a baseball scholarship."
They can't get TOPS plus an ahletics scholarship, but it's still a huge advantage over Vandy and even some state schools. It means your walk ons can go to school for free (i.e. a scholarship). When you are limited to 11.7 that is kind of a big deal in recruiting. It will be less so when the full cost of tuition thing happens though, because then there will be a gap between scholarship players and non....but for now it is a huge advantage.
Things are much tougher for private schools in baseball. It is un unlevel playing field, but it is unlevel tilted in favor of the LSUs of the world

Heard on the radio that Maineri hinted he might start Lange on Friday? Surely that must be wrong?

AAC isn't exactly the same thing as CUSA, and it certainly isn't the same thing as the Sunbelt. And you don't exactly have the same football history with any of the other state schools either.

My wife used to have that bumper sticker when she went to LSU and was a die-hard LSU fan. Now her car has Tulane stickers all over it. Roll Wave.

They don't need to rearrange their 2017 schedule, Oklahoma is the first opponent on it.
Oklahoma doesnt play Tulane until 2017, so they, directly, don't explain canceling anything in 2016. But the money from the Oklahoma game does make canceling Ms State "possible, and the TU AD claims he did need to cancel that game for other things in the works in 2016. We'll see.

I agree. The rumor is that they are working on another big name (home) game that year, and don't want 3 big name schools in the same year, and meanwhile the Oklahoma payout is big enough to make them not worry about the Ms State buyout.
I would have played the game in Starkville personally

Oklahoma is guaranteeing money (we don't know how much, bug signif more than Ms State's 350K) for the 2017 game. The second game at Oklahoma is free (in exchange for the game at Yulman)

I'm of the camp that says we didn't need to cancel Ms State to do this, but to answer your question....
Tulane is claiming they did that, in part, to make way for the recently announced 3 game series with Oklahoma (one of which will be in Yulman). But that series doesn't start until 2017.....
There are rumors they are also working on another series with a big-name school, with a home game in 2016.....and they didn't want to play @ Wake Forest, @ MS State, and have a big name home game all in the same year. Personally, I wouldn't count Wake as a big name so I wouldn't have worried.

How about simply for the righteousness of playing the game you contractually still owe us? :pimp:

Personally, I could give a fig about any NFL team. But, overall, its the Saints and not even close.

In 1938 they were anti LSU, but today, from my experience, they are not. I have been to New Orleans for 2 bowl games and talked to people.
Also, for that game Tulane had against us at Cajun Field last year, I talked to a few of them. Not many Tulane fans came to that game and if Louisiana plays Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl this year, prepare to be outnumbered in your own city.
New Orleans is now producing more Louisiana commitments than Tulane commitments. We just grabbed a big 3 star TE from New Orleans last night.
Don't take my word for it:

Our recruiting is still way behind the Tigers, but we are quickly passing every other school in the state and this goes to my original post. No one else, especially not Tulane, can bring fans and even have a chance at beating LSU.
Actually, Curtis Johnson is mostly locking down NOLA. You are getting outrecruited and you don't even know it.
And most Tulane fans see LSU as their chief rival (right or wrong).
I made the trip to ULL but a lot didn't. Our QB being hurt and our team stinking dropped numbers. If CJ keeps recruiting the way he's been recruiting, the numbers will skyrocket. And ULL will STILL be in the Sunbelt.
re: Fournette, Dupre at Tulane Camp today
Posted by waveprof on 8/11/13 at 11:22 am
Fournette has actually been at a couple of Tulane practices.
And I just saw a report today that he won't be taking an official visit to LSU.
Going to USC, Miami, and 3 others TBD.
I don't see him ending up at Tulane, but who knows. Curtis Johnson has been surpassing all reasonable recruiting expectations thus far.....
But I just don't see it.

Where do you get that idea? Right, wrong, or indifferent, ,ost of the Tulane fanbase is vehemently anti LSU.
