re: BREAKING 10 Mississippi State football players miss 8 games. Academic Cheating

We will have to use a methodical approach in the suspensions. We won't suspend everyone the first 8 games, and we won't arbitrarily draw up games that are more "winnable" to play players in and sit the guys in the more "loseable" games.
I suspect you will see all 10 players sit in the 4 non conference games and then have 5 sit in 4 conference games and the other 5 sit in the other 4 conference games.
You mitigate risk by spreading out the suspensions with the only overhang being in the non-conference games.

Sure, so I guess you trust he was right. But that picture above doesn't prove anything.
I guess it depends on which color lens you look at it through. The referee standing less than 10 feet away with an unobstructed view called it a fumble. And this is the first picture I have seen that wasn't from behind. To me, the ball is well out of his hands and his upper body is crossing the goal line. If this shot had shown both hands on the ball, I would say it wasn't a fumble, but again, the ball is well out at this point.

Other viewpoint from the Auburn fumble
Posted by Herm Edwards on 10/8/18 at 10:44 am

Ball is well out of his hands from this perspective. Of course, Auburn fans post the image from behind the player where there is no conclusive evidence, but this image makes it pretty clear he didn't have possession and the ball wsa coming out. You can see the goal line beneath him and see the ball is already well out of his hands.

re: With all this talk about Dan Mullen being a candidate for new job
Posted by Herm Edwards on 11/8/17 at 10:20 am
Dan Mullen is the second most tenured coach in the SEC despite only being 45 years old. Think about that. He's got 20 years of coaching left should he want to do so.
He's got essentially a lifetime contract at MSU. We love him and we'll make sure he knows it when his contract is up for renewal. It's his program and everyone knows it.
Basically, any and every coaching job that he would possibly want outside of MSU will open up within his career. What current coach will be at the same school 20 years from now? If he truly does want out, he'll go on his own terms to the place he wants to go.
What any AD will realize is that if he goes 9-3 this year and backs that up with another strong year next year, especially with his QB reputation, he would have cemented his reputation for building a program and running it the right way. And that would pretty well open the door for him to pick where and when he wants to exit-if ever.

Surely they wont actually wear these on Saturday, right?

I'll add this-Archibalds is a rib joint. I mean I think they *might* have other stuff on the menu, but you're wasting your time ordering anything other than their ribs. Its what they do and they do it WELL.
With Saw's, I like their ribs but they've got other strong offerings like their Pork-n-Greens: Pulled pork on top of cheese grits, braised greens, crispy onion straws drizzled with BBQ sauce.

Archibalds > every other Rib joint.
Also-I think Big Bob Gibson's was the original place for white sauce but I'm not entirely sure. It wasn't Archibalds, though.

Sounds to me like that AAU team needs looked at-I mean how many times are that many kids committed to one school? Mike Andersons' brother their AAU coach? Surely something is fishy for that many kids to be committed to one school.
See how speculation works?

Keep an eye out for Mississippi State popping up in all of this as well....
We'll see; college basketball across the country is in flux. Perry's dad played at state-it's really not that implausible to land a legacy.
As far as the Adidas camps-Nike & UA have them as well. That's not exactly earth shattering news.

Wow. In no way do I think this stops with the 4 schools that have been mentioned thus far-this is going to get nuts.
re: And the hits just keep on coming for ole miss

Two defensive starters on the eve of fall camp-sounds like a 1 game suspension. It's not like people's opinion of Ole Miss can get much lower-might as well keep them.

Any particular reason you feel that way about UGA?
It's Fitzy's home state. He's going to want to show out like Dak did at his homecoming party at LSU in 2014. Easier said than done, though.
re: Here is the unredacted NOA

Nothing too earth shattering- I am more interested to see the NCAA's response to Ole Miss's response. They've had it since last Friday and still haven't published it. Methinks that they are holding it until the absolute last minute(i.e.after training camp has started) to avoid transfers.

This is a huge deal. The use of burner phones has long been an accepted practice in CFB, but things like this getting discovered all but guarantee the 3rd NOA.
