Hype-thank you for a reasonable response. That makes sense.

I have been non accusatory here and genuinely sought answers to how Big 12 teams could succeed instantly in the SEC when most thought there would be a learning curve before they caught up. So far, the only answer I have seen is that being in the SEC helps recruiting. That makes sense if their success has been a result of players recruited since leaving the Big 12. JFF was not a product of SEC recruiting.

Henry-I agree the Big 12 stinks. You are making my point. Thanks.
I just asked a reasonable, simple question. All the venom in the responses speaks volumes.

Miz Stl- How many big 12 championships did mizzou win in the history of the conference? I think "loser" is a fair description.
Big 12 in SEC

I do not come here often, but has there been any discussion that maybe the SEC isn't as strong as most of you think? Two perennial Big 12 losers (1 championship between them both...last century) move to the SEC and instantly have success. I'm sure you guys have explanations/excuses for this. I am interested in learning what they are. I agree with all the Big 12 bashing I have seen here, but how is this consistent with the success of aTm and Mizzou in the SEC?

Not hardly..."Old" Longhorn knows 5th grade grammar.

How about La-lafayette, Wofford, La-Monroe or any other number of similar programs proven to be competitive with the over rated SEC?

I do like Sumlin. I think he was a great choice and will do good things. I was rooting for the Ags this weekend. I'm just realistic and see the sec is not what it once was. The move has helped aTm in the short run and I believe will in the long run as well. A good decision. They were going to remain at the bottom of the Big 12.

Only an ag would come up with "wheat thresher". Well done.

Ignoring reality/facts/history to conclude aTm suddenly is one of the best teams in the country because they can hang in the sec. They changed conferences.

Stick your head back in the SEC sand.

aTm proves every week the sec is over rated. The conference change is the difference between their usual position at the bottom of the conference and this year's results.
Only the sec could have a top 10 team that can barely beat mizzu and La-Laf. (and aTm couldn't beat them at home)

If aTm stayed in the Big 12, they would be near the bottom like they were the past decade. Never finished better than 4th the past 10 years with an average finish worse than 8th.

I'd suggest adding La-Monroe and La-Lafayette since they appear to be on par with sec teams. Florida may vote against La-Laf.

If you get outsmarted by aggies, you deserve to lose.

I've been debating this with Chicken and he told me to bring my thoughts here. I didn't realize you guys would be so defensive. I'm happy to leave if you don't want me here.
I have been the first to say the SEC is best (top, middle and bottom) in years past. It's just not true this year.
Keep drinkin' your sec cool-aid. I'm out.

LA Monroe looks as good as all the SEC teams I have seen them play this season.

Reality hurts. Maybe you can add La Monroe to raise the quality of play? McNeese?

Name a single team in the Big 12 besides Kansas that is clearly worse than Tenn, Kentucky, Mizzu, Vandy, Miss St, Ole Miss, aTm Arky or Auburn. That's 9 teams that would be Big 12 bottom dwellers. SEC blows after the top few.
