That just sounds like the sold you an annual maintenance contract with 2 visits.

I’m a Briggs and Stratton Dealer and all that’s required( if there are no storms that cause a longer run time) is an annual maintenance that should run about $250-550 depending on if you need a battery and valve adjustment. I’d find a new Generac dealer to service your unit.

The Briggs units exercise 16 seconds a week and 90 minutes a year so the valves shouldn’t even really require adjustment and batteries should just be replaced every 3 years.
Yeah you need good underlayment and the thick planks like 21mm or thicker
You can glue it down, but nothing wrong if you use a thick, quality product with a good interlock system.

I installed one in a basement, it was cheap and the interlock wasn’t consistent, I swear the planks were banana shaped, however the client who is a friend of mine said it’s still holding up.
I do not. I can sell you you and drop ship and provide you some advice to install yourself but it won’t save much. If you need a 26kW I have a unit I can drop ship to you with a great deal. Feel free to email me with whatever you need or questions.

Some of them weigh the same as pictures or mirrors that get hung with picture hooks…..contractors use those anchors for diaper changing stations….you need to adapt with the times

One zip toggle can support 265 lbs….6 of them will be fine

I just remembered what happened on one of them, it had plywood under the drywall. See if that’s the case and and it will make it easier to trust the zip toggles.
I’m an electrical contractor and to be honest it will probably be as much work as installing a new line. You’ll have to likely move that breaker to the top of the panel for the interlock and splice the wire where the charger was.

I don’t think you’ll save much. Feel free to email me at homeimpbydl@gmail.com.
Check out the last emails I sent you.

Since it’s a new build, have your electrician install the transfer switch, your plumber install the gas pipe(make sure it folllows the generators instruction manual).

Call GenPro if you really want to go with Kohler they are responsive.

If you need help with oversight or negotiating the electrical or plumbing adders give me a shout.

If this is a newer tv, it is light, and the mount doesn’t have much adjustment(ie doesn’t pull more than 6 inches out creating a ton of leverage) stick 6 zip toggles in it and call it a day. I’ve run into a fireplace or 2 with weird framing.

Don’t ever do this on a heavy TV or an articulating mount!!!!!

ETA: professional AV companies use these in case anyone thinks I’m nuts
It doesn’t need to be perfectly level so water can roll off…..and I’m sure settling goes on with some.
LOL that’s the world we live in today.

This is your typical Generac install which I assume is HMC. They all look about the same. The only thing I would nitpick them on is burial depth on the conduit to some of the generators I’ve seen and gas line routing, but I’d suspect that’s something as simple as telling them how you want it. Most people probably don’t care and give no input.

I do not….i wouldn’t worry about it too much, it’s something that can be done after the fact. I stood there with him while he swapped me from a 275 cf meter to a 425 cf.

The part I would worry about if this is a new build is getting that switch put in during the construction process.
So here’s the process with Atmos, because I went through it…..Atmos won’t come out until after your generator is installed. The tech will make a suggestion and see if you want to go with it and do it. In my case he said I could take a bigger meter so he replaced my meter on the spot.

Most of my neighbors are running on the same meter I used to have. I assume no one called Atmos. I see some of the Generac installs have multiple regulators, so assuming they did a bit more, and speaking with the tech that was an option.

Also, it sounds like HMC is trying to sell you a full install. If you already have a service rated transfer switch, you need to make sure the gas pipe is the right size and replace only the wires from the generator to the switch.

To go up to an 18kw Briggs you’d be in the neighborhood of 8-9k as long as the generator is close to the gas meter. You shouldn’t have to pull permits. You only absolutely need permits if a meter pull is involved. Feel free to email me at homeimpbydl@gmail.com
I suspect HMC did the Generacs in my hood. They are for the most part, clean installs.
