i've been to a couple of his playoff games and grew up with his coach (sonny charpentier). cole is a big guy who seems poised in the pocket. he does have good mobility for someone so big. he has had issues...but appears to be righting the ship. his coach was a 2 time first team all state quarterback... and same in basketball as a guard. he was jake delhomme's quarterback coach years ago in high school. jake attributed a lot of his success to sonny. i believe sonny has taken cole under his wing. if cole is smart he will pick sonny's brain just as sonny picked his legendary high school football coaches (dick mccloskey) brain back in the '70's.
do we have a scholly available? if not, suggest we don't consult petrino on how to handle the situation.
Not sure if afraid is the right word...

Mind if I connect the cables for good connectivity?
fluke was a 'tweener. i think he was originally from louisiana.
sure it doesn't bother you, because there is not much talent coming from bama. they have to get it somewhere.
Dang shame! Hope kid is thing about karma being a bitch. Petrino gave him no time to visit other schools.
Don't get me wrong, defense is important, but it sure seems offense is where you have to be elite in today's CFB. Even the best defenses seem to give up a lot of yards and points more often than in the past. My thinking is, With the players we get, as long as we can have better than average quarter back play and top defensive recruits continually in the pipeline, coach Steele and O should have great success no matter what questions exist swirling about their past coaching stops. They could essentially rewrite history. This hire is looking better and better to me.

there are no more shutdown defenses...just aren't. an pretty average defense with an innovative offense is where it's at these days. that leaves lsu out.
i'm purposefully becoming numb to this. i thought for sure we'd hire either clancy or shoop. whatever happens now i think i could be a little less disappointed if orgeron becomes a member of the staff.
I read about the stoops interview on my way into church a little while ago and plum forgot to pray it wasn't true. May need to go back and get it done!
"Seems to fit the mold of what Les thinks a QB should be. a scary thought!"

that is a scary thought!

these recruits picking alabama would be wise in looking at how the great players from past years are playing in the nfl, as opposed to those lsu has produced. richardson, that rb with the saints, etc. where you only have to look at the cardinals to see how the lsu players have produced. why? maybe because saban beats their bodies to a pulp in order to win college championships but with nothing left to spare for the big $ of the nfl. just my opinion.
This...and his backs are punished everyday, probably more than at most other programs, during practice. i gather his practices are brutal.
i agree. enjoy the moment with another great tailback.
not true. miami has sucked for years and usc only in the last couple of years with kiffen. do yo know the background of usc fans? check out their tuition. these are entitlement babies. i'm not sure about miami (and don't care), could be either thugs or the wealthy, they have both in the area.
happened last week too. haven't seen it at lsu in many years on consecutive weeks, especially not against a quality sec team (they were 3-0 under first year coach who helped lead them to nc) we sure could've used some of that home field advantage in the second half. not a good sign in any respect. i can't see the same happening at bama. and do you not think saban will take advantage of video from half time on as part of his recruiting scheme to lure recruits also interested in bama?
commitment doesn't mean commitment often, it seems.
i agree with most and the part i'm not to enthused about isn't worth mentioning. my feelings are that if a big time high school player decides to stay home and represent louisiana, that person will always be a celebrity to the masses once he moves back to his area of the state. he will almost never have to buy another meal at a restaurant for his remaining days.
however, once the recruit who leaves louisiana for another team, especially one that is a major rival of the a louisiana school, he'll still be a celebrity in his circle of friends, but he will be picking up the bill. in louisiana, we put our football heros on pedestals to show appreciation. probably moreso than about any other state.
they may think this is a rather small thing, but when you think your college career lasts 3-4 years and the rest of your life expectency is about 50 years...that's a lot of free meals he will not have to spend his (and his families) money on. and he'll always feels like a king to family and friends.
