Thanks for a whiff of the "New South", boys. Very impressive.

Just be happy you landed in the east. That is the only reason you might go bowling this year.

If we stay healthy (big if!), we'll go bowling, Dawgs and Bama notwithstanding.

BTW, when I was a little kid, we had neighbors in MissourEE by the name of Fontenot. The gentleman was always smiling and always called me "Shug". Plus, as a kid I rode the Missouri Southern south to Nawlins twice. So, I have a soft spot for the Bayou Bengals.

What does your wishlist of potential replacements look like?

I'm not looking to hate anyone in the SEC, and I never supposed anyone around there could stoop so low as to remotely resemble a Jayhawker. However, as you see, several (non-Vol) volunteers have stepped forward, and I might have to reassess the situation.

I was merely showing history, fellas. Not trying to make any point. In any given football game, history means nothing, as we all know.

BTW, I live in MissourEE, not MissourUH.

Cultural Evolution in the SEC

Mizzou and the Jayhawkers didn't have rivalry, they had absolute HATRED! (Now they're afraid to play us again.)

I'm looking forward to cordial, good-sport relations with fans of Mizzou's SEC opponents, but I have to wonder how long it might take to develop not-so-sportsmanlike attitudes towards various "folks".

I think attitudes are shaped by forums like this, where it's hard to avoid escalating trash-talk.

ESPN talking heads are rank, that's for sure. I remember their guy in the elevator at the baseball winter meetings, telling us that Pujols was at that moment in a hotel room re-signing with the Cardinals. Right. And the so-called power rankings are a joke, as shown by the fact that they're always changing. Just play the games, chug some brews, and enjoy the excitement!
There's almost always a strong breeze blowing from the Guff! :rotflmao:
Mizzou has a running QB coming off shoulder surgery in the spring. He's an essential part of the running game. If his shoulder gets re-injured, the backup QBs won't be up to the task. When you run a lot, you get hit a lot. It's a dangerous world out there! But, if Franklin stays healthy, he's a game-breaker! Go, MIZZOU!!!!!
Here's to the EXTREME excitement of a third team of Tigers stalking the SEC! (But there is only 1 MIZZOU!)
Looking forward to Week 2 in Columbia, MO! An historic day indeed!

(I'm on an island.)

My Mizzou Tigers probably will be ironing out some wrinkles and looking past SELa to the Jaw-juh 'Dogs, so won't post big numbers in Week 1. I just want to say to the SEC, thanks for the invite! And welcome, Georgia fans, to Columbia, MO, for Week 2! How nice to entertain cultured folks instead of miserable Jayhawkers!
