I'm kind of worried too with the mid major upsets out there. I think if LSU were to lose to A&M, and A&M were to get to the final vs. a non Kentucky team(probably Vandy), and the non Kentucky team were to win the SECT, then I think we would be relegated to the NIT.

I think the selection committee feels that LSU has the easiest path to lock in a bid with just one win over an A&M they narrowly lost to twice. I think a lot of people are assuming that Kentucky wins the tournament. Kentucky has gone into the SECT twice undefeated and lost. I can see Vanderbilt beating them in Nashville, essentially a home game for them.

A Vanderbilt SECT championship over A&M would probably have LSU as the number seven team in their ranking of SEC teams with the selection committee. Let's face it, when you beat a good team three times, 99% of people will think that they are going to be the more deserving team. I don't think the committee is going to give the SEC 7 bids at the expense of a good mid major.
