Uncle Al most definitely enabled AD. Motherfricker went to the Lakers and they eventually said you're playing center so stfu. And he did. You keep trying to find excuses to avoid putting blame on the organization. They may not be completely at fault but they played a big role in harboring their weak mentality.
Both AD and Zion wants to win. That's never been a question for me. But they don't want to be uncomfortable doing it. That's where tough love and guidance were needed. We coddled their softness, protected them from criticisms, and even place blame on everyone else around them. We did everything we could to enable them early on and that's the result of our poor decisions. The fact that Zion got away with so much shite during the Griffin era while being protected is the biggest downfall. Griffin coming out giving every single excuse for Zion being fat during his rookie year was the beginning of the end. Now compare that to Embiid getting absolutely lambasted by coangelo early on in his career for being fat and injured put his arse in line.
I think you don't put enough blame on the organization. Culture and accountability was always lacking. There were no standard put in place and the expectations of results weren't there.

I put as much blame on the organization as I do the player. Their talents weren't the issue. If this organization had the culture and mindset of a Miami, these guys would have never gotten away with the BS they have been year in and year out.

Tough love was never a thing here and they didn't have a guy who had enough respect to demand it.
Swin is not even remotely in the same ballpark with Amanda and could never do the things Green will be asked to do.
She was under Presti her entire career dating back to San Antonio. It's probably an opportunity for her to go somewhere and build something from the ground up and cement her legacy.
Good organizations vs bad organizations. It's really as simple as that.

I don't think anyone local is plugged in anymore now that Dumars has pretty much cleaned house.
I rather trade Poole as an expiring contract for a player at a position of need that may have another year on the books than to move those guys just to move Poole.
While I agree that they need to add another quality center who can play big minutes to the mix, I actually think Mosely will be the best thing that happened to Missi. Mosley has a history of getting the most out his his bigs. Mosley even made Mo Bamba competent and playable when he coached him.

I already said the Spurs has a ton of luck behind them. And yes, they know how to build teams and there's enough example of that over the last 30 years. They are the exception to the rule and the reason why teams can't emulate them very well.

At the end of the day, the good ownership and good management are the difference between the organizations around the league. We had "generational" picks with guys AD and Zion and we botched both guys. Bad organizations will always find a way to fumble talent. That's one of the reasons why I don't give a shite about the evened out odds. They'll find a way frick it up.

I don't really give a shite about the evened out lottery odds. The product is shite because of the old lottery rules and I much rather see teams still play hard and have competitive games once December hits.

I've gone to too many games where teams held out key players to tank and teams who held out star players because they didn't feel they needed to play them against a tanking team.

I don't really give a shite about the Spurs. They had 2 sub 30 wins in the last 25 year and a ton of luck behind them. They aren't your typical example of tanking teams because they have a front office who knows how to build a team.

That is nothing compared to the teams who game the system year in and year out to try to grab a top 3 pick. Teams who will dump players to worsen their teams. Teams who will sit healthy players for significant games and teams who throw the entire season putting out a terrible product just to try to land a high pick.

There's a difference between a team who is mismanaged form.rime.to time and teams who are mismanaged bad enough year in and year out to be stuck down the bottom of the barrel with no way out.

Good. If you mismanaged your roster that badly, you should not be rewarded for it.
Josh is an elite role player. He wasn't going to take the Pelicans over the hump at that point.

Outside of the Lakers and Jrue trades, the Griffin era was a trainwreck. Hoarding and wasting assets like no tomorrow. Forced to use assets to correct bad mistakes and never really assembled a proper roster when everyone was begging for shooting and rim protection for years.
They were losing games with Hart. They didn't start winning until they traded for CJ. Pelicans fans have amnesia or something.
He didn't bring with him the guy who ran that offense last season.
I believe his assistants have been finalized. He's bringing a couple of guys with him from Orlando including Brielmaier who will run the offense.

The official website lists guys guys as his assistants:
Bret Brielmaier (Offensive Coordinator)
Randy Gregory (Head of Player Development)
Michael Hopkins
Jodie Meeks
Dale Osbourne (Defensive Coordinator)
God Shammgod

I'm not sure what you're talking about? What assistant got fired?
