re: Liggins weighs 270???

Posted by heightstiger on 2/3/12 at 6:37 pm
Has anyone run a basic BMI on Liggins? It's what insurance companies look at when rating...

6'3"
270lbs
18yr male
33.7 BMI (OBESE)

Mine is 32.7 and I'm fat and haven't been to a gym in years.

Liggins is Obese, at 280lb he's 35.0 which is medically Considered chronic. It's a medical fact...

Now as for the 4.6, saw that on bleacher report and it could limit his runs IMO to short yardage which increases injury risk, as does bad conditioning. It's risky at best and the upside is Rohan Davey, which has value to be sure, but next year we need 2 QB's and Miles has to stop it with the pet projects. He opened his remarks defensively to the press at the news conference and his later remarks in praise of Liggins have torpedoed into national controversy.
Its confirmed

Henry coached the wide receivers at McNeese State from 1997 to 2005 and then added assistant head coach and offensive coordinator duties in 2006. "Adam is a very talented coach," Miles said. "He's a tremendous teacher on the field and he comes to us with a very strong background having spent five years in the NFL with the Raiders and another 10 years at the collegiate level at McNeese. "He has shown the ability to teach and instruct at the very highest levels of the game. We are excited about what he brings to the staff. He's going to give us a youthful energy that will help us continue to develop our receivers." Henry is one of four LSU assistant coaches with NFL coaching experience, joining quarterbacks coach Steve Kragthorpe, defensive line coach Brick Haley and special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey.

Great company!

Thanks for stalking, I guess your sheep are sleepin and the delcambre reeboks are missing in Eunice. Honored to be in your lame signature, do they give u a badge for that? You give sunshine pumpers a bad name fellow alumni, if you did actually graduate from Baton Rouge

It's a national story, deal with it

to any concerned, this has now become another ugly Yahoo headline... that's 4 so far this recruiting season

1) LC video from the announcement
2) Gunner Kiel dumps LSU
3) 300lb QB chooses school
4) Miles rips recruit for not joining LSU

If anyone has it out for ESPN, really take a look at Yahoo Sports... they've definitely got a negative eye for tiger news good or bad and love to blow it up to the front page

why are you afraid to throw the ball in the redzone?
Fear and Intelligence have no relationship you tard
I'd rather HB7 get less attention actually. Alabama made him a target after the 1st game and did everything in their power to expose his height. They threw open taller receivers, leaving HB to make great tackles, but not breaking up passes. The more attention he gets, the more this may become the reality. I'd rather he stay at the level he's at, forget the Heisman attention, and let him be a leader on a 2013 BCSNCG winning LSU Team

Alex Hurst - 3* 5.6 - Seeing a trend yet?

Alex Hurst is a great example of how a 3 star can look good until they meet a team of 5 star talent that's coached up with a great game plan. In the BCSNCG, he played like dogshit and everyone blamed him by name for letting untouched sacks occur on Jefferson. Its a case where 3 star gets by 95% of the time, but that 5% is really when it counts more than any other situation.

Won't argue with you on details, as the extra context does make a difference, but I'm not sure if Liggins didn't do some of the same to Ole Miss.

My point is that Les essentially condoned the actions that recruits take to act on their best interest and applauded the balls it took to do that.

On a very basic level, most of the bad recruiting misses like LC, TJ & JM fit that same mold. Whether or not they were holding a seat for their own notoriety plays into ultimate perceptions, but Les is condoning hometown talent acting their best interests over some sense of loyalty to institution.

If Miles likes the attitude that helped Liggins stand up in the grove in Oxford to declare for LSU and a place that will win a championship, and Les "likes that man's style"

Then I don't see any reason any Tiger can complain about a Landon Collins, Joe McKnight or any other home town boy turning his back on the Tigers

difficult logic if extended to all situations, to be sure.

unfortunate headline; even more unfortunate that they have it pasted on the front of yahoo this morning. while the article is positive, the headline is not.

That's Montrose area, you bigot. The Heights is a historic, conservative, family area with no crime. and it's not known for any kind of gay community

Is it physically possible to stop that much arse on 4th and goal from the 1?

That's a bold assumption on two levels

1) We gain 9 yards with this crew on 3 downs, after totally giving up the pass
2) We're past the 50 yard line where a 4n1 would make sense

The saddest part of today for me is that Les Miles clearly showed that 1/9 taught him nothing about QB play or offense in general

Avery apparently spoofed the staff saying he was going to Bama as he was faxing in the LOI to LSU
Just mentioned in the presser that the 2 remaining scholorships will go to deserving members already on the team

CLM just mentioned that the remaining 2 scholly's will go to existing players on the team who've earned it.
