re: SEC Baseball - Conference Play Eve Power Rankings

I haven't kept up with the other teams to comment on the rankings other than to say A&M has Tier 1 pitching but unfortunately the hitting is more like Tier 4.
Childress seems to be on his last leg as HC. I heard he's been put on notice by the AD.

Not really, not on basketball. That being said, I understand A&M reached out to Buzz some time ago through "intermediaries" and supposedly there is mutual interest. Is he really serious or will he leverage A&M's interest into a better payday at VT?
re: Billy Kennedy fighting to save his job

That's great and all but the problems with his regime are not going away. He is not a strong recruiter, the assistants that did the best job of that are no longer with the program. Roster management is an ongoing problem. He NEVER has a full roster of scholarship players. Consistently undersigns new recruits and doesn't do enough in the transfer market to make up for that. That's part of his problem this year, no depth, especially after Gilder's health issue cropped up.
Characteristics of his teams are poor free throw shooting, inconsistent defense, high turnover rate and player development has been spotty to say the least.
It's good to see the players competing hard while looking up at most of the other teams in the SEC standings. But those young players will have to develop under another HC.

His job as HC is not "saveable" at this point. From what little I know, Billy Kennedy won't be fired but he will either be reassigned or retire after this season. Interest in a basketball program with 2 Sweet 16 runs in the last 3 years is the lowest it's been in a long time. It's been on a slow decline ever since Billy Gillispie up and left for UK. One way or another, Kennedy's time as a HC is near the end.

On that day I will be a Tiger fan, can't imagine very many Ags that would back the whorns against anyone. Schadenfreude runs deep in that situation.

Yeah Nick Saban with a month to get his team ready? I wouldn't bet against him.
I know your guys have been really banged up, what's the outlook on availability for some of those that have been out of action lately?

Yes, so far this A&M team is looking much more SEC like. Dominating the LOS on both sides of the ball. Now, can we do it in November? I don't know but I like the look of this team so far.

Wulfgar - that is greatness. I never would have thought to take that angle.
I'd like to see someone work him up as Adam Lambert.

Farking challenge - Kliff "GQ" Kingsbury

"GQ" Kingsbury
From the article:
So when I saw this I immediately thought of the fantastic farking opportunities this presented. My thoughts are to fark Kingsbury "dressed" as any of the above celebs. In particular, Michael Jackson, The Beatles and Adam Lambert would seem to be easy marks for Mr "GQ". I would do it myself to get things started but don't have the tools or skills.

Kliff- We place his nickname..GQ, Hollywood, Swagger..(we talk to him and see what we can place) we need to dial in Kliff's style and hammer it as a the "cool kids" here at Texas Tech. Starting point: if we are going to place KK in the media spotlight. He must be spot on in terms trend & look. That is what we can hang our hat on... I have reached out my friend and owner of Fred Segal LA. https://www.fredsegal.com/ He has dress and made the image of many stars: He has helped style Micheal Jackson, Brad Pitt, Madonna, Ashley Olson, Bruce Willis, The Beatles, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert. List goes on. He's a go to guy for helping read and place the stars image in terms of looks. I sent him Kliff's pics. He said he would help me put Kliff in what on trend for his style...and more importantly body type. If he puts his signature on Kliff, then Kliff also gets introduced to the Hollywood A-list. He will then assign a stylist to Kliff for season review and help.

re: What challenges will we see from the aTm defense??

Secondary is not very good. They give too much cushion and tackle poorly. After the Ole Miss game our DC mentioned "tightening up the coverage" in the secondary for La Tech and decreasing the amount of cushion. The DBs apparently didn't get the memo.
LBs are pretty good, but not great. Hope to see an inspired game from them on Saturday.
Starting DL is fairly good but depth is very thin.
You can expect to see a fair amount of blitzing and we should have a little more success with it than we did against La Tech. Their QB doesn't hold the ball long enough for the blitz to get there unless one of the front seven is uncovered and even then he has a quick release.
Run defense has been inconsistent, tackling needs improvement. Pass defense has been mediocre to poor but no teams other than Arkie to some extent and La Tech to great extent have been able to really exploit it.
