The idea that Spo is a bad coach is just hilarious.
Also, pre-LeBron in year 1 he had
Chalmers / Dwade / James Jones / Haslem / Jermaine ONeal as a 5seed, not bad.............ONeal had a game 5 concussion vs Hawks and they lost in 1st rd in 7g.

Escolar is delicious. Just don't eat a ton of it.

Wasn't tip 20 in ORtg. Was barely top 15 in DRtg. Was barely top 10 in ws/48. And was just starting to come into his own as a facilitator. He really wasn't
#1 in ORtg was David Lee.
Plenty of non-superstars in the top 20 as well... included antonio daniels, kevin martin, shane battier, anthony parker, jose calderon, chucky atkins, mehmet okur .
I'm not sure missing the top 20 in ORtg rules you out as a top 5 player. And DRtg is not a complete measure of defense obviously.

ignoring the injury issue, pretty sure curry is the only player (with starter minutes) in NBA history to have a 10-point PER jump after the age of 25 so i'll gladly be wrong due to the one outlier example in the history of the NBA of this occurring
Trying to find anyone close.
Steve Nash. Bench guy for 2 yrs. Then traded to Mavs.
Age 24 - started all 40g (NBA lockout) with 10.9 PER
Age 25 - 13.5 PER missed like 27g but played basically starters minutes .
Age 26 - 19.6 PER
Age 27-32 = 20.7, 22.6, 20.5, 22.0, 23.3, 23.8 PERs
Chauncey Billups. Starter at age 21, 22, 23. PERs of 13.6, 15.1, 10.5. At Age 24 PER of 14.1.............Age 29-31 PERs = 23.4, 21.3, 23.6.
I'm guessing if we go back further in time some more close calls will come up. Need guys who end up with super high PERs bc 10 pts of PER is A LOT...if we were talking %increase in PER that'd be diff........but probably need some 3 yr and 4 yr college guys. Nowadays the top PER lists are filled with dudes who barely played college and so entered the league super young and had a ton of seasons before age 25
re: NBA - Is Western conference dominance over the East finished?

Unless my calculation is wrong, the East is currently 201-213 against the West this year. A winning percentage of 0.486.
Spurs/Warriors are 48-8 vs the East.
I wonder how much of the current difference is strictly due to 2 of the greatest teams of all time being in the West?

Listen, Johnny Jones has a long list of faults but at the end of the day he has the program relevant over a three year span. The last two seasons and this year we have either been on the bubble or in the tournament but we are always in the NCAA discussion. When was the last time we had a 3 year stretch like this? The Shaq days?

Debatable b/c i think he got one of the largest deals ever for a 2nd rd pick with a good amt of guaranteed money. Doubtful he was gonna end up a lottery guy

re: Who would you rather build your team around: Shaq or Lebron?

Shaq had a 10 year span where he averaged 28.1/11.9/3.0, 2.5 blocks, 0.7 steals, and shot 57.8%; 29.1 PER
FYI by my count, last 10 yrs Lebron =
28.0/7.3/7.0, 0.8 blocks, 1.6 steals, and shot 50.7%; 28.9 PER

I liked the guy and thought he was a good defensive coach, just too inconsistent during his time. Here are his records from '00 through his last season. I threw out his first two years because of what he walked into.
We were on probation through '02, right?
Also as far as his Ark St accomplishments that someone referred to earlier--what Sun Belt teams have made the NIT recently? Seems like a shitty conference.

also can consider a 2part process. cook low and slow until the skin is very tender. then blast it off at 450-500F til crispy. chilling in between would probably even be beneficial.
re: How do you cook rice?

Personally I use the 2:1 ratio of water to rice, bring water to boil, put rice in and stir, let cook on low for 20 min. It's literally the easiest thing to cook. (This is how it says to do it on the bag fwiw).
same...sometimes it's not 20min, pot/fire/batch size fluctuations, i usually peek at 15-18.
