re: Cool X thread on JD5, LSU and a German VR company

Here’s a great video that talks about just how much it has developed him. You have to think that this technology will eventually take over NFL and other sports to help with player development. The company that developed it is called Cognilize. If/when they ever go public, I definitely would like to invest in them.

Was yesterday your first day in the markets?
For real, haha. Just goes to show how long it’s been since a good -1% day or worse. -0.3% is nothing lol.
Potential new point ranking system
Posted by tigerinthawoods on 12/8/24 at 2:35 pm
Just something I thought of this morning and wanted to hear the rant’s thoughts.
New College Football Ranking System: The Points Method
This system ranks college football teams based on performance quality, assigning points for wins and losses based on the opponent’s ranking at the time of the game. The goal is to provide a transparent, week-to-week ranking that rewards strong performances and penalizes poor ones. It would look something like this:
Points for Wins:
• Beat a Top 5 team: +10 points
• Beat a team ranked 6-10: +5 points
• Beat a team ranked 11-15: +3 points
• Beat a team ranked 16-25: +2 points
• Beat a team ranked 26-50: +1 point
• Beat a team ranked 51 or lower: 0 points
Points for Losses:
• Lose to a team ranked Top 25: -1 point
• Lose to a team ranked 26-50: -2 points
• Lose to a team ranked 51-75: -3 points
• Lose to a team ranked 76-100: -4 points
• Lose to a team ranked 101+: -5 points
The two issues I’ve thought of would be the issues early on - the very first poll and the preseason polls moving forward, as well as early season results with multiple teams likely being tied up early on (for example after week 1 there would be 25 teams tied at +1). I’m thinking it would work itself out as the season plays out and the final standings of each year could be the following year’s preseason poll as default. But I’m just curious to see what others think of this. There would be no more room for bias and the results would speak for itself.

re: Bryce Underwood

Going to say it again… why would Bryce take a million, or even 2 million dollar higher offer from Michigan when you know damn well that program isn’t going to set you up for the much bigger offer and payday that awaits come NFL, like LSU will. Bryce has even already acknowledged the same concept in a video/interview someone posted recently. Michigan is not a QB school and is not the place to become a better QB. Knowing all of this, to see him flip this late in the game, would be highly surprising and you would have to think they are throwing much higher gobs of money at him than 3-5 million.

Sorry, but I don't buy that. Not with NIL the way it is. Also, who's to say that Michigan won't revamp their staff in the next year or so? I hope Underwood stands firm with us, but it won't surprise me if he flips. Dave Portnoy isn't playing around.
Sorry, but we don't buy this comment either. When you consider the potential of being drafted #1-2 overall after a Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniels like career at LSU, then as a result getting a monster payday at some point in the future 10-20x more than whatever NIL is offering... missing out on an extra $1 million or so from Michigan over a 3 year period to avoid having your QB career and potential potentially go to crap, I would think it's night and day what your decision would be. I mean assuming Bryce has any sort of smart and reasonable thinking, try to put yourself in his situation. Would you take a guaranteed $1 million today and nothing more? Or be given $0.01 with the amount guaranteed to double everyday for the next 30 days? Your username and comment checks out that you are more of a Texas fan than LSU (or maybe even a tiger fan in disguise?), and don't want to imagine Bryce being in an LSU uniform, getting in the way of your Longhorns.

In case it hasn't been stated enough... T R A P P P game.

Now if only we can get the players to read this board so they will know this and not fall for the trap! If someone knows Brian Kelly's number, please text him this. Thanks in advance.

Lol, what did Burrow do to you for you to hate on him so much? And then want to see Lamar succeed over JD to see the rant get mad? It really sounds like your butt hurt from seeing all of the success these 2 QBs have had in the NFL

Today is National ____ Day

Maybe it's just me, but t's starting to become comical how many different national/worldwide days they are creating. Today is national World College Radio day, Golf Lover's Day and Vodka day. Let me just think of anything out there, and some group or organization will eventually make a day for it.

One thing that I really love about JD is how humble and grounded he is. You can also tell he has a strong faith if you watch some of his recent post game interviews. If you watch his post game interview following the Bengals & Giants wins, he uses the opportunity to give most of the credit and glory to God. Something a lot of people that make it to the top of their professions won't normally do, or are too scared to do in public. Makes me respect the heck out of him.

You know what’s pretty wild… go back and watch his first game with us against FSU and then compare that to where he is now. Pretty remarkable.

Exactly. Knowing that JD went up against top NFL type defenses in the SEC and exploited all of them, it should have been a no brainer who was the better pick.

Legitimate question - if you replace Burrow with Jayden on that 2019 team, do we have an equal, or possibly even better, offense that year? It’s crazy that so soon after Burrow that this question might have some good discussion.
Crazy

I’m still expecting a shite show this year but what a surprising start to this year
Importance of Jayden Returning this year
Posted by tigerinthawoods on 12/5/23 at 1:41 pm
Is huge. You have to believe his success this year alongside Burrow’s, will become a major recruiting pitch in the future to help retain a lot of players that are on the fence of turning pro or have later round draft grades. Jayden, you made the right choice and are going to be paid and rewarded handsomely for it. Geaux tigers.
When Texas gets in over Alabama today
Posted by tigerinthawoods on 12/3/23 at 9:28 am
Alabama will have a new hated rival on their hands in Texas, especially with them joining the conference next year. I feel like this loss will stick with Alabama too because it will go to show that they can go 12-1, be SEC champs, and still not be enough. That they aren’t the program that everyone bows down to. The morale killer will drag into the next year with Saban’s years dwindling down.
What an interesting year

We go from many wanting JD benched for Nuss, to now even some mention of JD>Burrow lol. Can’t believe I’ve seen some people comment that on here. Nonetheless, what a drastic change it’s been for JD and the fan perspective of him these past few games. I hope he keeps it up.
How far do we drop in rankings?
