Pigeon Forge - Recs

Posted by TygerB8 on 5/3/25 at 7:29 pm
We are going to Pigeon Forge at the end of this month and want to do white water rafting and ride UTVs in the Smokey Mountains. There are a lot of online companies to choose from but hoping someone here can provide recommendations.

Thanks!

This happened to me a few yrs back. One of the diaphragms on the aerator pump was ruptured. I bought a kit at a hardware store to repair (~$100) as opposed to spending 2 to 3x the amount for a new pump. The video below shows how to repair diaphragm.

Damn I was just there around 10:30 and bought 4 bags of the preemergent for 50%off. I never saw that sign. I’m going to stop back and see if they will adjust the price.
Thanks for the info! And to others in this thread with tips. Looks like I'll be busy this morning taking care of this.

re: Pool prep

Great info in this thread!

When you say “spitters”, I assume this is slang for deck jets? If so I ran my deck jets during the last freeze a few yrs back and my issue was making sure the wind didn’t blow the water all over the deck, and freeze over the jet opening. I’m thinking about taking an air compressor and blowing out water from the deck jet exhaust side ( LINK)and then covering each opening with a heavy bag of mulch or something. I’d appreciate what others are doing with similar water features.

I’m also going to do like a few others said and put a heavy blanket/tarp over equipment pad .

(I’m in South Lafayette area)
Same here. I’ve used TurboTax for 20yrs and will try freetaxusa this year

24/7 is what I was told by the pool builder a few yrs ago. I have a variable speed pump that is always on low unless using the pool’s water features.

Weber Grill - Conversion to Natural Gas

Posted by TygerB8 on 6/18/24 at 7:32 am
I have a Weber Genesis II S-310 propane grill. Instead of buying a new natural gas grill, I’d like to convert my current grill from propane to natural gas. I see a lot of options online. Has anyone done this recently and have recs for online kits? Thanks!
I need some natural gas related work done at my house in the Lafayette/Youngsville area. Does anyone have licensed plumber recs in this area? Thanks!

re: Portable Generator Question

Someone on this board referred me to a Facebook Group which is devoted to portable generators and questions such as yours. The group is called "Generators: portable generators to power entire house" and very helpful!

re: Generator Question

Following as well as I have this exact generator and looking to tap into my 1/2” natural gas supply pipe. 2 Questions:

1. Is there a recommended natural gas shutoff valve brand and material (e.g. brass) to use outdoors? I don’t mind paying for something that will last.

2. I will want to install a shutoff with 2 different connection types -1 for generator (which requires a 1/2” flare connection) or a BBQ pit which requires 1/2” pipe not flared. Any recs?

ETA: reading this thread reminded me of some skateboarding game where you rolled around and did tricks but then had to go and compete in one of 4 events…halfpipe, downhill, etc. The screen was huge and when your time ran out it would say “Skate or Die!” and you could hear it throughout the arcade.

The game was called 720°..loved that game!

There was also a game called Skate or Die for Commodore64 and Nintendo. I wore that game out as a kid. Good Times!
Great Dog! We bought ~3 yrs ago from Sullivan’s Boston Terriers in Livingston, LA. Highly recommend and I would buy from them again. LINK
Lots of good info in this thread. Any recommended websites to watch the correct installation of these soft starter kits? I'd like to know if this is something I can do or need to hire out.
