I was told 3 cops were shot. They were not sure the extent of their injuries.

Has there been anymore information on the party bus? Is that still possible or has it been ruled out?

What kind of car is he in now? Did y'all see Kevin Swindell was taken to the hospital earlier this week from a wreck at the Knoxville Nationals. All I've read was that it was "significant injury".... Anyone know what happened?

Thanks for the information. This is going to be a dumb question but....The specs on the link you submitted doesn't show anything about using Office 365 on a Mac.
Is it not compatible or am I missing something? Thanks again.

TigerWare Microsoft Office Question
Posted by TheDirty1 on 8/5/15 at 10:20 am
Does anyone have experience using Microsoft Office from TigerWare on two different computers? Do they limit access codes or can you put the office suite on multiple machines?
Salesforce.com / Data.com Anyone use it?
Posted by TheDirty1 on 7/22/15 at 7:35 pm
Anyone have experience with Salesforce.com? Specifically the Data.com portion of it. How exactly does it work? The way I understand it is you pay a monthly subscription and that allows you the opportunity to search for contacts. When you find an individual you would like to contact, its .50 for his information. Is this pretty close?
re: Larger Companies Self Insurance (P&C, Health, Etc.)

Thank y'all for the reply. All of this is spot on with what I've been reading. I have also seen that they are looking at writing new legislation that would keep smaller companies from doing this. Pretty much, forcing people to the health care exchanges.
Sears Holdings and Darden Restaurants are moving their employees to a private health exchange. (Close to 500k employees) What do y'all think about this? Will it be more common in the future? I've read that quite a few larger companies are exploring this option and maybe swapping over as soon as 2016.
Are y'all in health insurance? (Or insurance period?)

Larger Companies Self Insurance (P&C, Health, Etc.)

I've been doing some research on the insurance industry and have been amazed at how common self insuring risk appears to be for larger companies. Am I missing something or does pretty much every major company self insure their health plans and a majority self insure general liability and workers comp? I understand they purchase other insurance as a "stop loss" but I would have never guessed self insurance would be this common.
I am familiar with a self insurance fund that pays dividends out on excess premium at the end of the year. Here the insured pays a monthly premium into the fund and goes through an agent. In the grand scheme of things, it's really no different than standard insurance. I believe that this "self insurance" by corporations is different than what I just described. Am I right in that thought?
The largest 15 p&c brokers write 43% of the business in commercial insurance. These major brokers aren't writing the mom and pop shops in Baton Rouge; they have to be writing insurance for bigger companies to accumulate that kind of premiums. Right? What am I missing? How are the top 5 companies writing 6bn, 5bn, 2bn, 1.2bn, and 1bn respectively? LINK

Group health commissions are tiered. The higher premiums are in the 1-2% range.
What exactly is group health? How many policies make it a "group"? When you say higher premiums are 1-2% you mean each individual policy pays a different amount depending on how much the policy is? Or is it the higher premium groups you are talking about? Just curious.

No one is getting 10% on health any longer. 4% is what I see most often. It's still a lot of money though on a decent size case.
Is this because of the ACA mandate that forces the health insurance companies to spend a certain % on actual health care?

Is this a fact? I've been reading up on it lately and have seen numbers closer to 4-5%. (Assuming I am reading that right 10% new policy and 10% for renewals)

Taps Social House and Kitchen www.taps1516.com
This is owned by some people from Baton Rouge. We visited a few months ago and the food was really good. If you visit make sure you tell the manager you're tiger fans. He was also from south Louisiana can't really remember exactly where though maybe BR or NOLA.
If you make it to Sausalito make sure you go to Poggio (Italian food) and if Tony is working the bar hangout with him for a little while. Sausalito is just right across the golden gate bridge about 15 minutes from Union Square but its a really cool area.
The palace of fine arts is really cool. Lombard St is cool, there is a back way to go so you don't have to sit in line. I would advise map questing that so you don't sit in line for 1-2hrs. Took us 20 minutes to do the Lombard St. thing. If you have any spare time go south to Big Sur/ Carmel by the Sea/ Pebble Beach the sights up and down Hwy 1 in that area were amazing.
Enjoy the area I wish we had their summers here in BR rather than the heat we have now.

Go to Barrachina Restaurant, where the pina colada was invented. We went 5 years ago and it was really really good. I don't even usually like pina coladas.... The forts are all really cool too. We only had a day there before we boarded a cruise ship but San Juan was pretty cool.
re: Is a CFP necessary for young investors?

I think he means should he invest his money on his own or should he hire an advisor. I may be wrong but I don't think he has any intentions in taking the cfa test himself.
re: Excess Cash on Hand - Businesses
Posted by TheDirty1 on 3/11/15 at 2:18 pm
Sorry for the confusion. I obviously did not word the question well. How much cash does the average business keep relative to expenses. I guess it could be considered an emergency fund for a business. If a companies expenses are $100 a month and $200 is kept in cash they would have 2 months expenses in cash. What would would you think is a common ratio of cash/monthly expenses.
Excess Cash on Hand - Businesses

How much excess cash on hand would you say the average business has in its bank account. I know the answer to this question could vary greatly depending on the type of business, health of the business, etc. I am just curious to what everyones thoughts were.
