re: Taking a work friend in from Aberdeen to his first American football game

If he is hard to understand now, wait until he has a few beers.
I encourage you to ask him to take you to a soccer match the next time you are in Aberdeen. There is usually a quick cheap flight from Aberdeen to Manchester for the Man U games. Would be a great experience.

re: Close friend's kid got first recruiting letter
Posted by chuckf9901 on 5/28/13 at 11:11 am to GhostofJackson
I received a letter from Mississippi State for football in the mid 80s when they were terrible. The letter I received had the most wonderful smelling perfume to my 17 year old mind. I went there for a visit and met a blue eyed blonde that was as charming as could be. I didnt get an offer......but those blue eyes and that full sweater would have been difficult to turn down. I cant imagine what those kids go through now.
re: Dylan Moses highlight tape. Actually pretty hilarious.

No doubt that Dylan Moses is an amazing talent. I hope he is a tiger.
On a related note, the kid at the 2:05 make really went in flight. As impressed as I was with Dylan Moses, I was equally impressed that the little kid got up after going airborne. Way to show some guts!

Then again, the coaches would never see him opening holes if they were not reviewing Fournette's film.
Perhaps Fournette is making him look better than he is, or perhaps Paul is one of the reasons that Fournette is so good.
We will see.

re: How's the officiating @ ULL's Moore Field??
Posted by chuckf9901 on 2/25/13 at 4:25 pm to Ignignot
Typically, the ULL fans take this game like it is the last game of the CWS.
The LSU fans take this game as a scrimage where they keep score.
The ULL fans seem to think there is a very strong rivalry between the two schools.
The LSU fans have to be reminded that there is a university in Lafayette.

I am not saying that Dhaquille is overrated.
I am saying Micah Eugene destroyed him when they played against each other.

The last ranked team that I could find that USL beat was Texas A and M in 1996. The article I read stated aTm was ranked 23rd at the time. The final was USL 29 Texas A and M 22 and the game was at Cajun Field.
For the record, R C Slocum was still the coach of the Aggies, and the quarterback was a kid named Stewart that had transferred from Tennessee. When Stewart was at Tennessee, he dueled a kid named Manning for the starting job and didnt fare too well.
And that my friends, is your USL Sports History lesson for the day.

Dude, that is so not funny!
Hobley would have won the Heisman at LSU if he would have academically qualified.

Incredible athlete but not a QB at the next level. I hope someone finds room on their roster for him because he is very talented.
