Perhaps, but I think it's just the opposite: we OLD guys care!
For those of us old enough to have watched football "back in the day", we remember that there was only 1 game on TV each Saturday (sometimes 2), so games weren't often moved for TV, and LSU almost ALWAYS played at night., because they were rarely on TV. In those days, it seemed that LSU rarely won in those day games because if the game was on TV, in the daytime, the opponent was pretty good (often, Bama).
When football on TV began to proliferate (ESPN, JP, etc.) there were more LSU games on TV, and occasionally the once/year JP game at 11/12 o'clock was a home game, but not always, and even ESPN often preserved the night starts because of the legends of Saturday night in Death Valley. However, except for a run from 1982-1987, LSU went through a stretch of TERRIBLE football (Thanks, Curley!), which didn't lead to as many day games, because, "who cares?"
But when Saban came to LSU, we became a powerhouse, leading to multiple marquee games each season, and a desire to schedule those games, especially on CBS, at 2:30. And because we've been so good for many of the years since, it didn't matter as much when we played, but for those of us who lived through it all, there is still a stigma for day games vs night games.
Our overall home game record for kickoffs before 6pm is 93-43-5 (.677), (and my guess is many of those were before the lights were installed in the late 30's,) but since 2000, it's 37-10 (.787). That means the winning percentage for day games at home before 2000 was .595. That's a significant difference from .787!
We're good enough these days to say, "any time, anywhere", but this "old timer" (62), whose 1st home game to attend was a beat down of Archie Manning & Ole Miss, at night, in 1970, would still prefer never playing a day game in Tiger Stadium. "Modern fan thing"?! I think not.

The pass seemed SO bad that I had no idea why he would even throw it. Who was he even throwing to?
So I went back to look, and I'm telling you, no matter how bad it seemed, when Watkins raised his hand and started running towards the sideline, if he'd gone straight, he would've at LEAST been very close to the ball, but instead he went behind the db.
He was literally right behind the db when he tried to intercept it, so he wasn't far away, he just drifted away rather than coming back to help his QB.
I could be wrong, but just watch it again, especially the replay in slow mo and see if it at least makes sense as to why Sam would throw there.

Watching the Auburn game again, and on that "horrible" throw, did anyone else think that if Watkins had come straight across the field instead of drifting away (behind the db), the pass wouldn't been on the money?

1984 Bama vs LSU @ Legion Field. There was a tornado warning in Birmingham, and just crazy weather, but the game never stopped, and we Tiger fans stayed till the end to watch the 2nd of 4 straight away victories against the Tide, 16-14.

Perhaps LSU has played no one yet, but just for a factual point:
When OM played Louisville, they were ranked 24th in the AP poll.
When LSU played Clemson, they were 23rd in the Coaches poll, so...

The court hearing scheduled for yesterday, concerning giving the SEC the right to vote on kicking LSU out of the conference was postponed, since the point was moot, but the regularly scheduled SEC presidents mtg was happening even before the eviction issue came up.

I've already been so frustrated with the media and the SEC calling these 2 young men "NFL players", as if they were longtime NFL veterans (I bet those who actually played in the league wouldn't consider them that), but now the focus on CLK's halftime comments, with only PART of the comment being used, is just maddening!
First, Lane considered the comment to be off the record, but also, the quote everyone is pouncing on came after he said "You don't know how hard it was NOT to say..."
In a rare case of Kiffin trying to show restraint, he's getting bashed (especially in the amended lawsuit) for what he considered a PRIVATE COMMENT!

I was a freshman in 1982, and my first Sunday I went to Sunday School @ University Baptist (shocker, right?)
In walks the teacher and it's none other than Coach Jerry Stovall! Almost fell out of my chair!
Obviously he didn't make it after away games, but after Saturday night home games, he was usually there, teaching the Word!
