Doesn't UF only have TWO championships since 2000? ('06/'08)
1970 Archie Who was my first game to attend, when I was 6. Changed my life!
But I also remember while I was attending in the '80s, one game we pushed the Rebels back to a 4th & 53! ??

re: Why wasn't this reviewed...looks like Clemson WR steps OOB in a crucial moment

I watched the skycam view from ESPNU and still couldn't be sure, BUT...
The Clemson ball boy was right there and pointed at the step that looked closest to the line, as if he was still in, so ... SURELY he was!
HAHA!

Not sure if it's the only reason for the TO, but he wasn't on the field before that last play when Kelly called it. When they came back, as far as I could tell, he was the only personnel change. That's how much they wanted him on the field on the most important play of the game!
Ps. And his man was SMOTHERED on the play

|It was NOT a touchdown. You HAVE to control the ball all the way to the ground. Pass incomplete...no TD
Other calls or no calls to argue....sure. Happens every single game|
Just out of curiosity, does the "control the ball all the way to the ground" rule mean on every catch? If this were technically true, could a receiver EVER fumble? I mean, both of our fumbles happened as the receivers were "going to the ground". Or, if a receiver caught a pass and ran into the end zone in the middle of the field, then dropped it as he ran off the field, would that be incomplete?
The "to the ground" ruling seems to have a very specific context, not including catching the ball in the field of play, running into the end zone, then falling out of the end zone and having the ball shift.

Yeah, I live in Orlando and had attended one of the HS state championship games there a couple of weeks before, which was followed by another bowl game, and then that one, w/so much rain that my socks still haven't dried out!

As of now, SECN is still saying they'll carry the game at 6 EST, so Vandy must be getting bumped?
SIAP but why did the Tigers have to finish on beam as the 1-seed? Did they not follow Olympic order?
So true.

I appreciate the idea that LSU is a baseball school now, but as a student in the early 1980s, I never once was even remotely tempted to attend an LSU baseball game. In 1984, LSU's first full-time baseball coach (shows how insignificant it was before), Jack Lamabe, found out he would no longer be the head coach when he saw a want ad for the position in the paper that had been placed by AD Bob Broadhead.
That's how unimportant baseball was... until Skip showed up. And even then, I didn't care or attend in my .last & his first two years that he was there.
Just as Skip made us a baseball school, Dale Brown, (in the wake of Pistol Pete) for all his flaws & waste of talent, made LSU a basketball school, and John Brady & WW showed that it could still be relevant even in the last 20 years. When you have names like Bob Petit, Pistol Pete, Shaq & Chris Jackson on the list of your former players, and 6 final fours, it's hard to call LSU a lower-tier SEC team, which is why our current status brings out so much passion from those of us old enough to remember better days.

In terms of the rankings, it may not make a difference, but I think it would be huge for the the Tigers just to know in their heads, "We can beat that team!" The Sooners live in every opponent's head until somebody proves they can beat them, so while I agree with your statement from a rankings perspective, you gotta knock off the best in a head to head match up at some point, and in your own gym with the crowd rockin' seems like a pretty good time to do it.
Sooners might want revenge and take it out on us in the SEC championships, and then we come back and get them at nationals.
Long story short? Just win, baby!!!

Since you're genuinely curious, tho I can't speak for the OP, here's my answer:
I am an LSU fan.
I follow LSU sports & LSU players who make it to the pros. When people ask me which NFL team I want to win, I pick the team with the most former LSU players on it (unless it's the Bengals, haha! Gotta' stick w/Burreaux!) I find myself often torn and inconsistent, but there it is.
So, if there's an LSU player leaving a pro sports team, especially one or our greatest ever, then like the OP, I would be interested where he goes because I support (or am at least interested in) whatever team he's on.
I know some of my homies back in the Boot feel like it's gotta be the Saints, Pels & maybe the Astros (for proximity), but none of those can hold my loyalty like a team w/former Tigers on it.

As excited as I was to see the 3 LSU players make All Pro, when I saw that along with Stingley, 3 of the other 4 DBs were from Alabama (Surtain, McKinney & Humphrey), it made me sad for the old DBU days in Baton Rouge. Hard to claim the CURRENT title when you see evidence piling up against us. Looking forward to those days again (along WITH continuing WRU, QBU, etc.)

There is something comforting to me about being able to say, "LSU has more championships this century than anyone besides Bama," but if OSU wins... they tie us at 3, so... (gulp) Texas? (Argh!!! I hate the choices of this whole final 4!!!)

I saw that too!
The answer I haven't heard?
Nick Saban said not to do it.
When LSU beat #11 Tennessee in Saban's 1st year (could've been another game, but that's one I remember), the fans rushed the field. Later, if I remember correctly, Saban said that he hoped that it would not happen again because LSU would get so used to it that we would expect to win those games.
I'm not sure how long it had been since LSU fans rushed the field before that, but it was a long time after it (certainly after Nick was gone) before they did it again.
Right or wrong, Saban at least renewed the "Act like you've been there" mentality that causes many to hate rushing the field.

Old Timer Alert!
My first LSU game was against Ole Miss in 1970 (Archie Who?), and one end zone was blue with red "U M". Can't imagine what the Rant would do if we gave the opponents an end zone today!
