Max is a threat to run.
Max has escapability, can extend plays.
Under pressure Max is dangerous to the opponent, under pressure TJ is dangerous to LSU.
TJ has a cannon, strongest arm at LSU since '06.
Max leads his receivers, TJ throws strong and accurately to a spot but he doesn't lead his target well for YAC.
Max protects the ball well, TJ came in with a "turnover machine" reputation and has lived up to it.
Max throws to the nearest open man even when more yds are needed and peeps are open downfield. That can be corrected/improved.
*********************************
Brennan is hurt a lot, was unable to go thru much of '19 season. Max runs a lot, is a candidate for dings.
LSU '21 WILL NEED BOTH MILES AND MAX. Contest will be for #3, TJ vs Nuss.
IMHO

You may be assured that WW made him a STRONG @ZZ OFFER!

A coach recuits a position and an area.
KF recruited RBs and an area which included Smith, Ryan and a few others he got.
The RBs he got are great fits for our O. The big power backs don't prosper behind the OLs like LSU has.

"more French, Spanish and English settlers than German and eastern European, great for the cuisine, not so much for Oline."
BINGO!
Add Italian in there, also not the great big peeps, and you have the answer.

re: So what does O do to flip the script on recruiting

If not O, who?
LSU has the toughest conference schedule in the nation along with AU.
LSU competes with the strongest program ever in modern college football, annual #1 classes monopolizing the best OL.
LA lacks big ugly OL and O hasn't been able to get enough of them from elsewhere.
LA has 6-12 top recruits a year at the level needed to compete, but O fills the class from OOS.
If not O, who could LSU hire that would recruit better?

The best sports day of the year other than when my TIGERS were playing.
Totally enjoyable.

often the listed weight is from an earlier date, maybe spring of Jr year, when the kid is just getting thicker and heavier in a good way.
Also kid may grow in college.
Some tests, like maybe bone density studies, can predict what to expect.

No doubt the negative pub hurt some but it comes down to
JUST WIN BAYBEE!
WW is an excellent recruiter and an excellent bench coach. He will get us there.

LSU program has been better.
However NOW we have Ags in SEC-W with $$$$$$$$$, coach, commitment, facilities and recruiting base to get on par with LSU.
When LSU wanted to spend $200mil on expansion, TAF/LSU had to go before a Legis Committee for approval to do a bond issue.
When Ags wanted to spend $400mil on expansion, they reached in their back pocket and pulled it out.
Ags are w/in 250mi of 4 of the largest cities in USA, all football mad country.
LSU struggles to find decent OL. All 5 of the current Ag OL are from TX.
Ags are pulling into the higher echelon of SEC and nation. My projection is that every year bama will be in the running for playoffs, as will, just a notch behind, LSU, UF, UGA and Tamu.

LA don't grow good big guys who play OL.
LSU don't get many good big OL type guys.
What LSU gets, LSU does a good job of developing.
Also note that it is not easy to evaluate OL talent, esp in LA. Guys the size LSU needs are much bigger than their opponents in hs and thus may look great until they get to college and face guys their size.

NAH, SEC will manipulate schedule so bama plays LSU somewhere and both UF & bama play the week before the SEC CG.

Todd not coming in on 'ship this class makes sense if family is well off and if our punter comes back for another year. As I recall one of our PK is also a punter.

Last Wed on his show O said we have 21 commits. I dunno which of the listed 22 ain't coming, O knows but he can't say.
Thus we have 4 spots remaining.
Hopefully the 3 5stars -- Smith, Foreman and Leigh -- and another OL.

Bo ain't going nowhere. He will help recrut excellent D players and, given time, develop a good D.
No longer can the top teams be beat by making them complete passes down the field, they can do that. O and Bo see that. Bo will develop a D that gets sacks and TOs which will be needed.
Bo and O will be here until the end of '21 for sure, and well past that IMO.

LA don't grow SEC OL, maybe one kid/year could be called a quality OL recruit. Need 4 or 5.
LSU gets great talent from elsewhere for other positions but OL hasn't come in yet.
Lack of AA OL may be seen by candidates, could be a big factor.
Until this is turned around LSU got a big problem.
