The claim is that its not great for most GA pilots. Maybe true, but I'm not convinced. I've seen anecdotal reports of major manufacturing issues.

Something changed and I think it has to do with social media during development as kids.

Starting w high school class of 2009-10 most high schoolers had social media for all of high school. Downhill from there.

Medical school in Shreveport dropped class rankings around 2018 because it was too much stress for the students.

Approximately lines up with your comments on 35 year olds and mine on social media prevalence.
