re: Worst Bowl coach ever?

Miles will only get worse if you ask me. he was 1-2 before coming to LSU and went 4-0 right off the bat with Saban's recruits so he looked much better than he really was. now he has gone 1-3 in his last four bowl games including back to back extremely embarrassing losses to bring his overall record to 6-5.
Maybe this chart will give some of you travesties for football fans some perspective.

Update it for the two bowls since then Miles is 6-5. There are literally tens of active coaches with worse records, and few than ten with more wins. Interestingly enough, your god Saban is 7-6.

13 fricking points in our 3 losses. We led in the 2nd half in those games. I just don't understand the people who post on the rant.
A whole bunch of stupidity.
So what you're saying is that we're a few plays away from being undefeated? Sure sounds like the sky is falling to me

Man if only we could be like them, we'd be able to beat them on their home turf...oh wait. Retard.
Does Holliday's TD non-review justify Schwartz's challenge?
Posted by LSUcricket on 11/23/12 at 1:18 pm
I searched because I didn't think I was the first to notice, but I didn't find anything...but does anyone else think that the non-review that happened a couple weeks back with Trindon's punt return justifies Schwartz's challenge flag?
While he obviously wasn't thinking of this play when he threw it, the fact remains that the NFL's "every play is reviewed" rule is BS, since an obvious non-TD wasn't even reviewed. So how can any coach know for sure that a play WILL be reviewed, especially when the shitty refs already screwed up the call so atrociously to begin with?
I'm glad the Competitions Committee is already looking into it, because I think that since the NFL has already provided an instance in which they didn't review a TD/turnover, there's no way they can expect coaches to assume comfortably that all questionable calls will be reviewed and thus refrain from throwing the flag in instances like this. Thoughts?

What should he have done then? Please, captain hindsight, step in and show Coach Miles and all of us poor idiot fans blindly following a failed leader how he SHOULD have handled it. Or just keep hiding behind big words that you sprinkle in as you type posts with a thesaurus in hand thinking it'll make your posts more reasonable.
You have continued to ignore the simple fact coaches cannot literally be following these players each and every day. Miles can't be there to take a joint out of TM's hands. While you sit there and criticize Miles for being the head of a team that has had 4 incidents in 12 months most of which have been for personal use of drugs, teams like Penn State are being dismantled, UGA is routinely cleaning house, Arkansas had 3 players involved with a robber, UT has players dismissed...
Sure, Miles' program may not be ideal. No one operates to perfection. When you are a powerhouse program, the level of athlete you recruit sometimes carries behavioral risk. In this case, discipline could not override personal behavior. But your side of the extreme is a perspective even less warranted for a FAN to hold, until you can provide insight otherwise into how the 'installation of discipline' should've gone down.

From the Play by Play of every game…
Oregon
55 yd to 3 (TD)
58 yd to the 7 (followed by return -1 yd)
WVU
41 yds to 3
52 yds to 4
60 yds to 5
37 yds to 11
51 yds to 8
51 yds to 9
UK
41 yds to 12
32 yds to 5
UF
36 yds to 2
UT
48 yds to 19
39 yds to 11
AU
52 yds to 19
53 yds to 4
56 yds to 19 (followed by -4 yd return)
UA
37 yds to 5
35 yds to 4
27 yds to 11
73 yds to 18
35 yds to 20
WKU
35 yds to 6
UM
46 yds to 15 (followed by return -1 yd)
UGA
67 yds to 13 (fumble on return, recovered by UGA)
24 yds to 15
So it looks like Wing had 25 punts downed and/or caught and returned for negative yardage inside the 20.
Of those 25:
- 20 (80 %) were inside the 15
- 13 (over half) were inside the 10 (15 inside the 11 yd line)
- 9 were inside the 5 (10, or 40%, were inside the 6)
It’s interesting to note that Arkansas was the only game Wing played in where he failed to record a punt inside the 15 yd line. Then again, his ability to limit Joe Adams to 0 returns more than made up for that.
Also, notice how many of these punts have yardages in the low to mid 30’s. What makes Wing even more impressive is that he is able to keep his average up around 43-44 yards per punt while aiming to pin opponents deep in their territory. Sure, the FSU guy may average 47 yards per punt, but I’m willing to bet due to touchbacks his NET punting is closer to 38-40, whereas Wing I believe has had maybe 2-3 touchbacks all year, and thus his net is probably almost identical to his listed punting avg.

Why travel all the way to Oxford to boo your own team?
Posted by LSUcricket on 11/19/11 at 9:38 pm
Had a guy sitting in front of me openly booing JJ, yelling "Get him!" every time he rolled out on a pass in the 1st quarter.
How you can claim to be an LSU fan and openly cheer against our own player is beyond me. IDGAF what your perspective on the QB situation is.
He even turned around and rolled his eyes when we complimented JJ on his scrambling ability.
The saddest part was having his 6 and 4 year old kids dressed in Lee jerseys too. He's probably poisoning their young innocent minds with his rantardedness.
Also, because you're probably out there reading this... 8-8. Enough said.

This doesn't make much more sense, seeing as he doesn't have any UM ties I can see...
But Jack Del Rio is back in town, saw him last night at DiGiulio's. Maybe they're hunting him down for some reason?
Just throwing out other ideas....this all looks pretty dumb and poorly timed

What a great game...makes you wonder what the season would've been like if 2nd half JL had showed up for the rest of our games.
The trick plays called in this game were super savvy too

I agree with your assessment of the PM situation, but I think that in the end they will see that Bianco and PM ended with the same record, only Bianco with less talent. But here's to optimism
SEC POY Awards
Posted by LSUcricket on 5/16/09 at 11:02 pm
Now that the regular season has wrapped up, who does it look like will be winning the SEC POY awards?
It looks to me like Coleman ought to be a frontrunner for pitcher of the year.
As for Player of the Year, the guy from Georgia looks pretty strong, I'm not sure if Blake Dean's torrid finish will be enough to overcome him.
Does CPM get Coach of the Year, or does the overall high level of talent on our team weigh down his chances?

And to everyone who bashed CPM for putting him back in the lineup :spank:
Once and for all this should show that baseball is a streaky sport...and nobody understands that and recognizes the streaks better than CPM.

I agree....except following with a 4 pitch strikeout swinging at a ball in the dirt wasn't the best he could've given us. :banghead:
But when he makes contact he's looking good
