re: Men who take TRT at a young age
Posted by Homey the Clown on 5/28/26 at 4:27 pm to Loup
I went back and re-read your post, and I agree with you in that sense. But for someone like me, it isn't going to come back in the 700s  my signs to get tested we mostly my moods, some depression, always being tired, unmotivated, that kinda shite. I was in good shape, but it was torture to do the things I had to do to be in that kind of shape due to the above mentioned symptoms. My first two lab results came back 180 and 240 even being in decent shape and taking fairly good care of myself. After being on it for abut three years now, I hover around 700-800 usually, and the difference in my moods are energy and like night and day from what they were. I'm 41 for reference, started TRT when I was 38.

What nobody tells these folks is that when you start shooting the synthetic stuff... your body will stop making the natural stuff. Then you are hooked to the synthetic.
That's literally the absolute first discussion that's had between a physician and a patient when discussing TRT.
ETA: and to the poster that said your body will begin producing it once you stop taking it, I have news for you. In your 40s, if your natural testosterone levels were so low that you were prescribed TRT, then you stop taking it, you body wont magically start producing normal levels of test again. If you're lucky, it will begin producing the low number you had before starting the TRT. And that's if you're lucky. Its more likely you will begin producing even less than your low numbers you had before. That's why they always ask if you're done having children before prescribing it.

That's a weird assumption. I feel like most people can at least make ONE mile in ten minutes even if they don't regularly exercise.
Also, please show me where I did any bragging...

Mandatory dosing of this if your BMI is over 30.
This is a stupid comment. People can be in incredible shape and have a BMI above 30.
It would make much more sense if you said " people with BF % above XX%"

Take him boat shopping. Same result, better chance of long term success
Or tell him you're thinking of buying a boat and ask for his suggestions and recommendations. Ask him if he thinks aluminum would be better that fiberglass. If center console is better than side console. What brand motor would he recommend. What size boat does he think is best. Typically, if you start asking a man, who likes to fish, these questions, you will be eventually hit with this response "well, if it were me buying a boat with that budget, I'd prolly get XYZ".

re: Advice on taking a month off from exercise
Posted by Homey the Clown on 5/13/26 at 4:32 pm to WG_Dawg
I recently took almost ten weeks off for an elbow injury (5 weeks of that was post surgery). Started lifting really light weight the first week, and have been increasing more and more every week since. After 4 weeks of increases, I'm feeling more and more like my old self. I havent completely gotten all of my strength back yet, but its coming. I went from doing 25lb dumbbells on the bench the first week, to last week doing 185lbs on the incline bench, and this week 70lbs dumbbells on flat bench. So the strength comes back quick, but I'm still not pushing myself too much because of the type of injury I had. But I'm confident that in another month or so, I'll be back to repping out 225lbs on the bench. It comes back quicker than you think.

I tried to go there a couple weeks ago, and they had a sign on the door saying they were temporarily closed due to electricity issues. This was around 10am on a Saturday. I don't think that is related to them shutting down, but I guess I could be wrong. Ohh well, LCT/Gun Cave is better anyway.
re: What is the funniest text ever sent to you that was meant for someone else?
Posted by Homey the Clown on 5/7/26 at 2:08 pm to Perfect Circle
I once sent a very vulgar text to my daughter's day care nanny on accident. She was in her 70's I very quickly was able to unsend it, but it was along the lines of looking forward to doing dirty things to her and included the word "pussy". It was meant for the woman I was seeing at the time. I freaked the frick out BIG TIME. It was never mentioned so I dont know if she saw it or not

I've seen some people in the gym wearing them, and they a nice looking shoes, but I'll be damned if I'm paying $150+ for a pair of shoes if they aren't some kind of specialty shoe meant to serve a specific purpose other than just to wear.

re: Torn Arm Muscle?
Posted by Homey the Clown on 5/4/26 at 1:08 pm to RetiredSaintsLsuFan
Sounds like a torn ligament. I just had surgery on my elbow to repair a torn ligament and slight bone fracture. Here is a thread I started about the topic. The OP has all the information I can offer regarding that topic.
LINK
Yesterday, almost 8 weeks post opp, I went to the driving range for the first time since my surgery, and was able to swing my clubs pretty well. I've also been lifting weights for a lil over two weeks now. Now, I'm not repping out 225 on the bench as a warm up set like I was before the injury, but I'm getting back my strength slowly but surely. Every week I notice a significant increase in what I'm able to comfortably lift.
So if your injury requires surgery and its a similar issue to mine (inner ligament in my right elbow; complete tear from the bone), this should give you a decent idea about recovery time.

Saw this pop up on my facebook earlier, then saw Gator 99.5 post about it, as well:
Woman saw a bigfoot in Calcasieu Parish recently.
Funny because just yesterday my boss and I were talking about the West Fork boat launch (they're listening) :blackheli:
