They obviously didn’t teach you reading comprehension at Auburn! Notice that I said the NCAA! The lawsuit was against the NCAA and involved over 40 student athletes trying to get their 5th year. The TRO was amended after the SEC voted on the new rule and the Players attorneys added the SEC. Again, a judge in Dallas County Texas did the exact same thing. Wonder how many athletes Sark advised to jump in that one? Maybe the kid that was on the roster over the weekend that isn’t anymore?
First, the first 2 takes are just ridiculous. Think about what you are saying there.
Second, even IF Lane did call his former players to tell them about jumping in the lawsuit against the NCAA, what is wrong with that? There were lawsuits going on all over the country for the exact same thing and I’m sure tons of other coaches inside and out of the SEC were doing the same thing. Something very important to remember is that the SEC wasn’t involved in the TRO until the SEC voted on penalties against member schools. At that point, the players attorneys added the SEC. LSU had no involvement in that. Matter of fact, a Dallas Texas judge did the exact same thing!
You are wrong about that. We don’t have any players on the roster that participated in anything NFL. Junior didn’t go to an NFL minicamp.
A lot of truth to this statement. LSU currently has 0 players that participated in NFL minicamps. Can’t be said for at least 6 other institutions. Now looks like LSU was discriminated against!
lol, are you kidding? They are about to go in dry on the SEC! Those dudes are about to get much more money than they would have ever been paid via NIL at LSU! LSU did them a favor!
Exactly, it would be absolutely insane. LSU draws the 6th highest viewership ratings in the country! Also has provided more national championships than any other member institution in the conference! But who knows, Sankey can’t even define what a professional athlete is….so we know he is stupid!
The real problem here is that the SEC is conspiring against LSU in order to infringe on the players rights! Also, numerous courts around the country have issued TROs and injunctions against the NCAA and the SEC concerning said player's rights! I don't know how that can be ignored by any court in the land! Sorry, I am a LSU fan and have always been a fan of the SEC, but I think the SEC is dead wrong here. I also think that they have opened themselves up to what might be unheard of punitive damages! I don't see how Sankey keeps his job after this.
Conferences might be successful in court when it doesn’t involve voting on new rules that are intended to defy a court order. A court in Alaska would be pissed about that, regardless of the circumstances.
What exactly is it that makes these players “pros”?? They were in college 4 months ago! They have practiced less than LSUs 5th year seniors currently on the roster! Do y’all mean to tell me that because they practiced with an NFL team as an undrafted free agent for 4 or 5 weeks, they are some kind of superstar NFL player??? This is a ridiculous! They would probably be better players for LSU had they known 5 for 5 was coming and stayed in college to begin with! So tired of hearing the “pro” argument!
I hope after this post that we can focus on what is happening with the team. I have read nothing about what our team looks like lately. I will say one more thing about this though. I said earlier in the week that LSU’s president was the smartest guy in the room for abstaining. Well, that is exactly what he was. I would encourage everyone to read the Supreme Court case involving NCAA vs Alston. The vote was 9-0! Liberal and conservative justices voted 9-0! I think that it was Kavanaugh that likened the conferences to cartels. He wrote a scathing opinion about it. After reading that decision, I am of the opinion that the NCAA and the conferences have no chance in federal court.
jmaclsu, thanks for elaborating on what i was saying in another thread.....I got nothing but downvotes. I also indicated in the other thread that the LSU's President was the smartest man in the room for abstaining! Can't say for sure that it will limit LSU's liability but it is definitely a good defense. I have preached to many people that there will be punitive damages if these players are restricted. It will be in the 100s of millions. Especially since the SEC makes more than $1 billion per year. Obviously, I don't want that to happen....but, I can definitely see a judge trying to make a point and punishing the conferences and its member institutions. I hate what college sports have turned into but if you think about it, these players pack stadiums and TV revenues are through the roof. They should be compensated for that.
You actually think the SEC would have the balls to kick LSU out of the conference! LOL, that's a great business plan.....let's kick out the member institution that has provided more national championships to the league than any other institution. That would be the dumbest thing ever! But I must admit, they have been doing some stupid stuff lately. Like trying to circumvent a judicial order by coming out with a ruling after said judicial order. The LSU president is looking like the absolute smartest of the group by abstaining! LSU should have no liability now going forward. The SEC and the rest of the member institutions all have liability now in my opinion. Looks like a Kentucky court is already pouncing on them!
They are acting like Lane and LSU started all of this?? Last I checked, multiple federal and state lawsuits were filed long before the suit in Louisiana. I guess they are getting very selective with their memory. They are just pouncing on Lane and LSU because they are the ones that are perceived to be benefiting the most!
Will JT Lindsey ever play a down for LSU? Also, any information about the freshman players? Any up and coming freshman playing at a high level in practice?
Not saying this as sour grapes in the event we lose out on McKinley but I watched the Junior film of he and De'Myrion Johnson. I just wanted to see if there was a noticeable difference. Seemed to me that McKinley got pushed back off of the line more times than not. Johnson always pushed the line back. Johnson looks to be pretty good and glad we got him.

If we land a certain TE recruit....he will be a 10.22 100m guy! Hard to believe your TE could smoke past your slot receiver!
Alley Brousard had some of the best high school film I have ever seen! He had ridiculous speed and the ability to truck anyone! I think the highlights are still on Youtube...
Absolutely! Really like this guy! I would definitely want my son to play for a man like that!
Nabors reminds me of Jamar Chase. I think he will be the best of all of them. Remember he didn't play his Senior season!
