re: What is your favorite tree?

I'll also add a couple of my least favorite.
1. Chinese Tallow - invasive, fast growing, wood literally smells like dog crap
2. Pine Tree - I know that we get most of our lumber and pulp for making paper from these, but they are ugly and make a mess.

What is your favorite tree?

This is my top 5:
1. Banyan Tree - Wish they would grow in Louisiana, although the roots spread and will mess up a slab if planted too close.
2. Live Oak - The ones by LSU and Audubon park are beautiful.
3. Crepe Myrtle - Lots of people dont like them because once planted they are near impossible to kill, but I think they are pretty, especially the trunks.
4. Japanese Plum (Loquat) - Have a couple of these, large dark green leaves that stay green year round, nice fruit.
5. Banana Tree- I don't think these are actually classified as trees but I love the giant leaves and they make my favorite fruit.
What you got?

My friend daughters just started school at LSU campus and this is what goes on there? As you can see the black baby doll has a string tied around her neck and the white child is dragging it! If you pay attention to the officer expression you can see she was appalled by this behavior! The girl was seen going outside dragging it outside and was not stopped and questioned! She been dragging this black doll around campus for hours now! This needs awareness and this is grounds for removal ! Share this post and tag as many activists and media organizations as POSSIBLE!

Conference Vs Court - Interested to see the outcome of this one.

Despite Villanova quarterback Pat McQuaide being granted a preliminary injunction to play this season, the Patriot League has deemed the Wildcats starter ineligible.
On Aug. 4, the Patriot League sent a letter to Villanova stating that the conference denied McQuaide’s eligibility waiver request. The conference’s decision conflicts with a preliminary injunction granted on Aug. 1 by Cuyahoga County (Ohio) Common Pleas Court judge Timothy P. McCormick. McQuaide, a native of Cuyahoga County, originally motioned to sue the NCAA after it denied his waiver request to play in 2026.

I hope they get fired from their jobs!
Oh wait, their job is existing and we as tax payers give them money for that. Never mind.

With liability being the way it is today, on top of low pay, dealing with undisciplinable kids and parents who think their kids do no wrong, I don't understand why anybody would get involved in teaching.

Not a lot of details. Anybody have the inside scoop?

A Covington principal and assistant principal were arrested Wednesday and are facing charges after they were accused of failing to comply with the state's mandatory reporting law.
The St. Tammany inmate roster shows that Tanya Barth and Lauryn Faciane were arrested and released on the same day. Their bonds were set at $5,000 each.
Barth and Faciane work at E.E. Lyon Elementary School in Covington, according to the school's website.
According to Covington police, both Barth and Faciane have been charged with failure to comply with Louisiana's mandatory reporting law.
The law requires school administrators to promptly report suspected abuse, neglect and other incidents involving children to authorities.

More specifically, injuring or killing animals, including farming, ranching, hunting, fishing, trapping, pest control, research/teaching; criminalizes breeding practices, would all be a crime.
So no mouse traps? Restaurants would be required to let rodents run free? God I hope this passes, its going to be awesome to watch this unfold.
