re: Why has RR slipped?

really thought he was going to Cleveland there...

LSU/Bama Part One tailgates didn't seem as heated as say an Iron Bowl tailgate in which we steal opposing children and set them on fire

I really feel like both fan bases were on edge for that game. You could really feel it in T-Town. I don't think I really saw any taunting. Not sure about the Bama fan base, but I get the feeling our fans are pretty loose about this one.
The worst is the Auburn fans in that West Georgia accent..."we're Tigers too"

Well like I said, I was going beyond the topic of this thread but yeah, I hear you...time will tell. Wouldn't want a Jimmer to slip right from underneath you...

You don't know that he hasn't gotten a look. Perhaps LSU has determined he is not good enough.

True but at what point do we start questioning TJ's ability to evaluate talent? This of course is going beyond this issue...

but I think the original point for the poster was that its illogical for some kid who is going off and could conceivably be leading the state in scoring can't get a look from the coaches at his feeder school who are in the midst of their worst offensive season in history.

Very true...I mean, I suppose it's possible that there has been some type of contact w/ him but I'd think he's worthy of an invitation to walk-on and maybe a scholly if something works out...

He is also not in any recruiting databases.

Yeah, I think that might be b/c he's a "late bloomer" and wasn't in the camps over the summer and what not, but you're right, somebody needs to get that hype machine going.

Before you criticize LSU for not recruiting him, tell us who is recruiting him.

I've heard he has interest from Clemson, UNLV, Tulane, UL...granted, like the article states, he's really only exploded onto the scene this year so I can see how he wouldn't be on the radar for a lot of schools, but when you play at the lab school...

Anyway, I have my own theory. I hear he's been hooked up with Colis Temple the elder (who has obvious connections to U High) and from everything I've heard he and TJ aren't on the best terms.

Chase Stanley, U-High article

So today the Advocate LINK had a piece on this U-High kid I've seen play a few times and was always pretty impressed. I saw on another thread LINKthat TJ (or anybody else on the LSU staff for that matter) hasn't really taken the time to walk a block or so to check him out.
The last time I saw him was against Episcopal and their man-child star, Brian Bridgewater. They might as well have cleared the court and let these 2 kids do a 1-1. Although Episcopal won the game, I thought Stanley won the battle.

I'm going to assume you are in your 20's........Daddy Dale made LSU BBall into something for the first time ever. The NCAA then went after LSU when Dale was out the door, pressuring a young kid to lie for them.

As a guy in his mid-20’s I’d like to turn this comment upside-down a bit...I was 6 or 7 going to games at the PMAC when CJ and Shaq were there with my family and also started going to football games…a few years ago, my brother and I were reflecting back on that at the time and in our memories it felt LSU basketball felt bigger than LSU football. At the PMAC, sold out crowds were the norm, Mike would come down from the ceiling before tip-offs and the place was rocking. Meanwhile, there were tons of empty seats at football games where the most passion that was shown was grown men yelling to fire the coach. Daddy Dale did over-achieve with lesser talent and under-achieve with greater talent. But most importantly, he made LSU basketball matter. It’s more than just winning. I don’t think there was a real sell out during Brady's Final 4 season. Tim Brando made this point yesterday on the Finebaum show…for all of Bruce Pearl’s flaws, he’s made Tennessee basketball matter again, and the fan base has embraced him for that. Today at LSU (in every sport other than football), a coach has to be a marketer in addition to being a great coach…Skip understood this…Please TJ, make it matter… :geauxtigers:

re: Insider Trading: Is it really that bad?

Posted by Joshuag on 10/22/10 at 10:13 am
A capitalist system depends on efficient capital allocation. It’s ironic but insider trading can often make this more efficient as the “insiders” have superior knowledge. Most of the time though we’re really just talking about individuals trading paper and the “insiders” having an unfair advantage.

Guess I'm out of the loop...I didn't even realize this.
I saw in paper this morning it was 7 but this afternoon I can't find it on any of the sportsbook sites...anybody have any idea why?

And who said I was? I never really wanted to be one either. It's just a blog. Writing my article is no different than your crappy posts on here.
PortCity, I’ve got to be honest man, 38,000 of your 38,507 posts are pretty worthless. Stick with porn.

I find it funny that you would criticize our "little blog"...I mean, with your 182,208 posts and all.
