Oh yeah, same friend of mine said its amazing how much Driskel has improved his touch on the deep ball.

I wrote: "Driskel threw several very nice passes, including a handful with very good touch in the intermediate to deep range" ... "Thursday night was one of the better outings we've seen from him in terms of throwing the deep ball."

I also heard either Fowler is the next Clowney or the Oline is straight terrible.

And also wrote: "Dante Fowler was absolutely unblockable yet again in Thursday night's practice. At this point, it's hard to tell whether that's just a great sign for Fowler or a legitimate cause for concern."

Your friend seems like he knows what he's looking at. I was surprised how many people there were out at practice tonight. Must have been 750+. Nice that they're later in the evening right now. We fried in the spring, but tonight was actually pretty comfortable.

Kinda like how OU ran that formation when Landry Jones was there? A buddy of mine at the practice tonight said, our receivers are lining out really wide. The slot receiver damn near lines up were the outside WR lines up in other offenses. Said it puts more pressures on the linebackers. Thats a little quirk about Ropers scheme that he has noticed.

Interesting. Didn't notice that myself but will have to look out for it tomorrow night.

FWIW, I don't think the talk about Driskel being sharp is idle talk at all. He looked pretty good tonight, granted it's only one practice. We'll see what happens when everything is live and he has to make decisions and fit it into windows in a real game.

Nah, but I remember hearing your last name. IIRC, I was a few years behind you at SPS.

Hey man, sharing is caring. I was smart and sucked on the varsity track and soccer teams for a few years. But I was on the team! :dude:

Hoping Mickey can have a good year for LSU this year and Jalen McCleskey lands at an SEC school. Ran into him and his father at Florida's summer camp, but bummed I didn't get a chance to talk to them much because I had to run.

Yeah I read that on 247. floated the info to the guys here. Here is a question. I heard Deandre Goolsby is really impressing at the TE position. Is it possible there may be some double TE sets with him and McGee? Kinda crazy to think about considering how TE was our weakest position by far last year.

Definitely possible. Goolsby was one of the standouts at tonight's practice. Even if it's not McGee and Goolsby, there will be sets with two TEs. Florida's also going to do a lot of multi-back stuff with multiple running backs. Ran some diamond formation stuff tonight (very productive last few years) with Taylor, Jones and Brown all in the same backfield.

Well hell man, get access to the Gator board and give us some inside scoops.

Haha, I post those on the site I work for! But here's a nugget for you: The final 1-on-1 in the tackling drill that led to the fight/brawl/scuffle tonight was Quincy Wilson upending Raph Andrades and putting him on his back.

Don't you bleed purple and yellow? NTIAWWT

Haha, not at all. That's something Andrew Spivey started and has become sort of an Internet truth somehow after I left GatorCountry. I'm sure there are people on TD or the rant who can tell verify for me if they see this thread.
Here, I'll prove it to you. In about two minutes, I'm going to tweet: "The Internet is a funny place." from @Goldkamp247. :nana:

Hmmmm. NSIS

Dead serious. Most Florida fans think I hate Florida because I try to be unbiased as a reporter. Go back through my post history on here, SECTalk and various other places and it should be clear that I'm just a reporter who can actually be neutral about the team he covered and the school he went to.
BTW, I'm Goldkamp if I haven't said that here before. Been reading the rant for about a decade, back when I was in high school in Louisiana (St. Paul's).

Injury happened prior to "brawl"

That's 100 percent incorrect. Hargreaves was injured during the brawl/scuffle/fight, whatever you want to call it.

Whoever posted the VIP tweet about VHIII trying to break up the scuffle, I also posted how it started per sources in that link. Dawson and Pittman were getting chippy, but that was just build-up to the actual 1-on-1 that caused the skirmish.

OP, do you have a link to this? Can't find anywhere.
I'm having a huge party for the game in Gainesville. No class on Monday for me, either. :dude:
Just to provide an outside perspective, this is not a phenomenon unique to LSU. Even 12-0 Florida has had its fair share of games this year, where the fans were quiet or left early.

Personally, that's just not my thing. There were probably only 45,000 people still in the Swamp for the last 5 minutes of the Vanderbilt game this year. Didn't matter to me, I was standings and screaming until the clock hit 0:00.

The bottom line is that isn't the norm anymore, anywhere. It's the entire culture we live in, has nothing to do with Tiger stadium, Les Miles or LSU fans.

Pisses you guys off when you see it in Tiger Stadium, just like it pisses me off in the Swamp. Realistically, though, there's just nothing we can do about it.

the 2007 Florida LSU game. The whole fricking game was load.

I totally disagree with this, and whoever said the 2009 game was really loud as well.

I will say that the single loudest moment I've ever heard in any stadium was at the 2007 LSU vs. Florida game when it was announced that USC lost.

But, as a whole, the first three quarters of that 2007 game were pretty quiet, similar to the game at times this year.

Florida's ball-control style the last two times at Tiger Stadium has really kept the fans out of it for the most part.

I can tell you for a fact that the Florida vs. LSU game in 2008 in the Swamp was louder for the entire game (as in, just never got quiet at any point). I have LSU friends that have been to the three games I just mentioned that would agree to that.

Entire defensive seems to be completely unmotivated.

Damn, I can't wait to see what they look like when they're motivated...

Seriously, have you watched our defense at all this year? We've given up 4 TDs all year long...

That's half the reason I think it's so hilarious. I'm from Mandeville and all my friends go to LSU, so of course I've taken a ton of crap from them for Tebow/Joiner/Meyer. Now I have some ammo.

Haha, just checking. Sorry my sense of humor isn't up to par. I just did a quick scan of the first page of threads on here and the Rant and didn't see anything so I figured I'd ask.

Is this picture legit?

Posted by shanksta13 on 10/26/09 at 3:40 pm
I ran across this on another board. Is this a legit picture? No flame intended, I just gotta know after laughing for about 20 minutes...

Expect him to 3 step drop

Hard to three step drop when you rarely line up under center, FWIW. Tebow will be taking the ball out of the shotgun 9 times out of 10.
