These look like the type of jerseys you'd see at one or those pop warner games in the hood where all the 5 year olds run out on the field in ski masks
I can guarantee you the guy carjacking you in New Orleans isn't going to stop and think about a public execution he saw on TV before committing crimes.

I'll reserve judgment until I know whether or not this kid was suffering from post partum depression

1. On the whole, the international pro market was likely better than the speculative 5 for 5 market.
Arguable, but sure.
quote:
2. International pros signing to play college basketball is nothing new. It's been happening for decades. In fact, McMahon's top commitment had he stayed was one. LSU is not the only program trying to roster international pros. Far from it. Arkansas just got a Finish player who played professionally in Serbia last year approved.
Signing internationals isn't new, signing internationals that were drafted by NBA teams and/or are this old is certainly new. People keep throwing out Illinois and Muurinen as comparable, but none of those guys were 23 - 25 years old when they initially came over like Dessert, Santos and Madar and none of them were drafted by NBA teams like Niang and Madar.

It would be MORE risky to wait until late June/early to try to sign a significant part of your roster that had less of a history of being approved to play.
In terms of actually recruiting those guys, sure, although it didnt seem to matter with Dent and Clark. In terms of eligibility, I don't see how it can be more risky when we are sitting here a month away from tip with a third of the team's eligibility up in the air.

The 5 for 5 deal didn't come to light until later in the year, right?
Yes, but it was widely speculated for months leading up. Even if their eligibility for this year is unsure, at the very least we'd still be in basically the same position of waiting to see on eligibility rulings.
If he wanted to take an aggressive approach to roster building, why didn't he go all in on the 5 in 5 guys? The focus on foreign/euro guys always seemed like an unnecessary risk when you could have made a run at established college basketball players with a much clearer path to eligibility.
This poll is completely irrelevant and has zero bearing on who makes the playoffs. I don't understand why y'all get worked up about it every fricking week.

The he must really hate the thousands of people that crowd around his enclosure all day long on gameday...or the rock concerts that take place 100 feet from his cage on gameday....or the hundreds, maybe thousands or people who crowd right out in front of his enclosure to loudly cheer the LSU band as it comes loudly playing right by him on their way into the stadium.
Some act like the tiger would be being plucked from a serene quite jungle on gameday and thrust in front of a cheering crowd. Nothing could be further from the truth. He's encountering thousands of people and noise ALL DAY on gameday.
Perhaps the tiger feels more at ease in the sanctuary, i.e., it's 15,000 square foot home that costs $3 million furnished with a pool, green grass and live vegetation :dunno:
People post on this board almost weekly about their dog and how much they love them, etc., yet when it comes to Mike, no one has any regard for his feelings.
Call me a pussy, but I tend to agree that if Mike does actually hate being in the stadium and it causes him immense stress, just leave him alone.

Can't remember what game it was after but the Condon meltdown a few years ago was also pretty great

I don't think you know what "melt" means.

The NCAA nor the SEC is going to kick one of the largest brands with one of the largest followings out of either.
The SEC, I agree. The CFP on the other hand is not apart of the NCAA, and it can do whatever it wants. I can promise you the CFP is not gonna go belly up for not including LSU. It hasn't included them in 7 years and it's doing just fine.

It wouldn't make financial sense
Agree, that's why I think the SEC was bluffing. Question is, is that a bluff you're willing to call?
quote:
and the uproar it would create would reverberate through the NCAA for YEARS.
If everybody hates LSU as much as y'all claim, people would be dancing in the streets.
quote:
Yall realize that once this makes it to the supreme court, they would side with the players simply because the ruling came out AFTER the draft, leaving the players with only one option.
Do you realize the Supreme Court doesn't have to hear any cases it doesn't want to? They can just decline to speak on the issue, like they have for about 100 years at this point.

If the squeeze is getting kicked out of the SEC and blackballed by the CFB, then yea, it's not.

I asked my brother in law if they did that for all games and he could not recall yes or no.
Ole Miss has done this for years. When I went in 2015 and 2019 they blared their band music from the speakers.

I can assure nobody was lacing weed with super-fent. A bad batch of blow made the rounds in Oxford.

The TD pass to Watkins was as good as a pass as you will see in college football this year.
It was a good pass, but this is some hyperbole. Kamario Taylor alone has made multiple better passes.

Thought it was obvious it wasn’t their intent initially - that would have been crazy.
Not crazy at all if you're confident the other side will go for 2 and you think you have more of an advantage with your O vs. their D rather than their O vs. your D.
The facts are LSU lost a road game in the SEC against the best QB in the country and was like 8 yards away from potentially putting the game into overtime.
All this while having no stops and no run game in the first half and having a QB that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn all night.
If you want to be glass half full, there's plenty of reason for optimism.
