You had a Cuban on a majority white team whose best two players are Venezuelan and Puerto Rican mocking a Japanese guy whose manager is half black, half Japanese and whose best hitter looks like Erik the Red.

I don't think diversity was the problem here!

Very real chance this happens after the season

LSU defense vs. Bama offense

Posted by Jwb0581 on 10/22/17 at 10:30 pm
Here's how the Bama offense has done in each of its 5 SEC games:

1) 355 yards vs. Texas A&M
2) 496 yards vs. Arkansas
3) 604 yards vs. Tennessee
4) 613 yards vs. Ole Miss
5) 677 yards vs. Vanderbilt

Here's the good news: LSU has a combined 6 common opponents with the 5 teams above, and our defense allowed fewer yards in all 6 cases.

-Texas A&M allowed 371 to Florida, we allowed 302
-Arkansas allowed 629 to Auburn, we allowed 354
-Tennessee allowed 380 to Florida, we allowed 302
-Ole Miss allowed 561 to Auburn, we allowed 354
-Vanderbilt allowed 603 to Ole Miss, we allowed 347
-Vanderbilt allowed 467 to Florida, we allowed 302

Taking an objective look at these numbers, we have played better defense than any of these 5 teams, and A&M is probably the closest to us. It would not be a statistical outlier if we were to keep them in the low 300's (Bama had 323 against us last year). I think that would be a realistic goal, although duplicating what FSU's defense did (held Bama to 269 yards) would really give us a chance to pull off the upset, depending on how the offense does.
I went to the game last night and stayed until the end. I've been going to home games since the late 1980's. I left feeling sad about what has become of the LSU Football home game experience. Yes, it has been dropping for a while now but I couldn't believe how pitiful it was last night. It felt more like a glorified scrimmage or a spring game than a night game against a Power 5 opponent.

We can all sit here and gripe about how much the atmosphere has fallen off since games like 1998 Florida, 2000 Tennessee, or 2003 Georgia.

But if you were in charge, what 5 things would you do to fix it? Obviously college football attendance is down across the country as people decide to stay home & watch on their flat screen tv's.

But there are things LSU can do to improve the fan experience. It doesn't have to be this bad.

Parking, traffic, piped-in music, lack of highlights from other games across the country, the constant barrage of corporate sponsors, the nickel-and-diming the average fan...these are the most frequent comments I hear, and all of them are legit.

Maybe if someone came up with a few things the fans want and pushed for it, the next AD would listen after they fire Joe.

If this was being done by mainly white players, they would have already lost endorsement deals and probably their jobs.

Really good point. Just look at what is happening in Berkeley.
Ark
Tenn
TAMU

There is a chance that none of these 3 teams' HC make it to November.

What is going on in this GIF?

About 10-12 years ago they'd cook a very good quarter chicken, but over the years it got smaller and less seasoned. Some of the other selections seemed to fall off too.

We decided to give the Jefferson location another shot last weekend and the chicken was back to how it was when it first opened in BR. Everything else we ordered was good too. Was it just my lucky day or did they change ownership?

Yep

S&P had our 2008 defense as #1. Before anyone says we didn't play anyone, S&P takes into account strength of opponent. Our 2008 defense was loaded. better than our 2009/2010 defenses that played in BCS games... I think out of our starting 11, 7 guys got drafted at some point, including all 3 of our linebackers who each had decent NFL careers. Gave up only 14 against Toby Gerhardt & Harbaugh's Stanford, 7 against a BYU team that had a good defense and scored 59 on UCLA, 13 against the 13-0 Utah team that crushed Alabama, 16 against an undefeated Boise State team. We did allow 35 to Oklahoma, who statistically had the best offense in NCAA history that year, but that was well below their season average at home and Stoops himself admitted after the game they got lucky on a couple of their TDs.

2009 and 2010 we dropped to 2nd in defensive S&P.

Ok, so it is possible to field a college defense in Texas. Just seems like the last 2-3 years there's been no D there whatsoever, which is weird for a state with such a proud HS football tradition.
Texas
TAMU
Baylor
Texas Tech
TCU

It's embarrassing. Is the athleticism of Texas HS football overrated? I know the state produces big dudes & QB's but damn they can't play defense over there.

Most Gamestops have them in good condition for about $40. A good investment since there doesn't appear to be a new NCAA game coming out any time soon. :wah:

So no running 10yd stop routes all game, all out blitz on D, or throwing deep every play? I don't run those but have played against ppl that do.

Yeah, we'll take it on a case by case basis. But hopefully we'll avoid the BS.

Also what are coaching levels going start at and how fast will they be able to develop?

Coaching levels will start at 1 and they will be set to slowest to develop. That way, coaching levels have the least amount of impact on games, and actual gameplay/strategy/recruiting will be the main factors.

Cal is all yours. Check out the OP for additional info I've added.

I'd like this to be an all-TD.com league, but if we don't have 8 members by Monday I'll post on Operation Sports to fill it up.

Lol. The dynasty servers still work fine and online plays beautifully since there's less congestion.

3* Dynasty - 4 from the ACC, 4 from the PAC-12 (2 from each division)

ACC

Boston College
NC State

Cal (Wal-Mart Warrior)

Oregon St.

Claim your teams in this thread, then I will send out invites all at once.

EDIT 1:
Scheduling
Expect to play between 3-5 user opponents each regular season. You'll play between 1-3 in your own conference, plus we'll have 2 more user opponents locked in like this:

First 2 years (split home-and-home)
ACC Atlantic vs. Pac-12 North
ACC Coastal vs. Pac-12 South
Next 2 years (split home-and-home)
ACC Atlantic vs. Pac-12 South
ACC Coastal vs. Pac-12 North
And so on...

Rosters
Default rosters with auto-generated names. There is less chance of a glitch if you do it this way.

Start Date
We will start as soon as we have a full league of 8 members. Hopefully that only takes a couple of days.

Gameplay
Play how you want, but if there are multiple complaints about a play/tactic and we decide as a league that you're taking advantage of a programming error in the game, you'll be asked to not run that play/tactic anymore. This dynasty is for grownups, so you have to be able to handle losing and winning. If this doesn't sound like something you can do, then don't sign up.
