I used a Savage Axis 2 Pro last year also. It shoots really well, but the action is a little sloppy. I also found the shitty plastic magazine to be an issue. I bought a metal one and it feeds perfectly now.

The doe shoot we do every year is for a client, so it technically is work. It's not very fun, honestly, and certainly not hunting. Just need to be able to shoot straight and often.
It has ruined any desire I might have to kill does at our lease. I leave that up to my wife now, it helps with her bloodlust and probably saves a 3 year old 8 point from her wrath every year.

I used a LT-20 for squirrels and rabbits for years. Loved shooting it, but chose not to carry it for doves for a couple reasons. First, I wasted that third shot A LOT. I don’t have the discipline to not give the doves a going away present. And second, I prefer an O/U for the ease of picking up shells. They pop right out into my hand instead of being ejected all over the place.
