re: On3 Portal Player rankings

List updated a bit yesterday. Updated QB list has the following as top 3 QBs available as of today:

1) Sam Leavitt
2) Kenny Minchey (ND backup)
3) Colton Joseph (Old Dominion)

Would be a surprise if we got him. Supposed to have top 2 of Georgia and ND

On3 Portal Rankings

Surprised to see Ashton Stamps so high. Top QB listed is Old Dominion’s. This list is changing daily, but a good guide
None of those are NOLA public schools though
Per ND beat writers, he ended up in virtual tie with eventual starter, CJ Carr, after Spring practice. If on similar level to Carr, seems to be worth a look. Also, some game film on him during several 3rd/4th quarter blowouts

Keep an eye on Kenny Minchey, backup at ND. Will be highly sought after based on performance in Spring before barely losing out to starter CJ Carr. Only a Sophomore and rumored to be looking to transfer
Notre Dame just agreed to a 12-game series with Clemson

Bryce Underwood diet

Bryce

What’s he eating?
The tackling is proven from Special Teams and spot duty. ND used him situationally against option teams (Navy, Army). Coverage is unproven simply because he was stuck behind a couple big-time players. I could see him in more of a “Major Burns” role (STAR) at the very least because of how strong he is against run.

Son of Brian Urlacher… watched him this past year at Notre Dame. Sophomore buried on depth chart behind some very good safeties. Big-time hitter, which made him valuable on Special Teams. Hasn’t really had much of a chance yet, but interested to see if BK reaches out considering our weakness at the position. Good tape on him when played during blowouts as Freshman
Same situation as Rocco Spindler transfer from ND. Both players are likely 2nd string on Spring depth chart next year behind OL returning from injury. Both are very talented with NFL future (later round) and likely looking to be guaranteed starter. Coogan in particular was a leader on team (pre-game speeches to team, etc).
ND had a lot of OL injuries this year. Spindler stepped in and did a very good job. However, likely wouldn’t be a starter next year based on lineman returning from injury. Looks like he’s transferring for guarantee to be starter. High quality player that would start on most power conference teams
It’s their 6th season-ending injury to a starter and 3rd along the DLine

re: Derek Meadows wavering?

Posters noted that LSU expected bigger jump in Senior year. Averaging only about 35 yards receiving per game and 4th on team in receptions (as of mid-October). Never expected big numbers, but at least wanted to see improvement to justify the “measurables”. How much of it is the offense/QB, up to LSU to decide
Notre Dame board (Irish Envy) mentioned that (see Derek Meadows thread). I know it’s easy to write that off to sour grapes on ND fan’s part, but posters on that board are typically realistic about chances with recruits and tend to lean towards pessimism
