re: TPC Sawgrass in August.

Played Friday at the Players stadium and it was an amazing experience. We had a caddy which was an experience in itself. The course was beautiful and everything you can ask for a great father/son experience. We were behind a group of 4 that played slow. It was nice because we could take in the whole experience. We played with a local 10 year old and another kid whose was 11. These kids play it 4 times a week. The 11 year old was a +1 after nine. These kids have been playing since they could “pick up a club” both parent are part of the PGA.
Dyes Valley was my favorite of the two courses. I just like the way it plays. Several par 3 holes are 200+ yards.
One of which if playing from the black tees was 257, a very long par 3. Several of the par 4s were long.
Also got to meet Aaron Rai. He was gracious with his time and an extremely humble man. He had his wife and we spent 10 mins chatting.
The best part was watching my 18 year old soak in the experience. I feel pretty fortunate to have had the opportunity to play with my son on such great courses.
It was hot as some on here stated but Louisiana is another level of heat so it was not bad. The breeze helped to keep the day comfortable.
The merchandise store was fun as we both geeked out over hats.
Again, I appreciate all the feedback and suggestions on this thread.
Many thanks

Did you watch that online to learn or did you get lessons?
Agree that every part of golf needs time and attention.
In guess I was hoping for some video that has helped others.

I have been playing since March. Every week, several times throughout, I go to multiple ranges to work on one area of my game. I work on my irons normally two hours a week. My wedges for an hour or so and also hitting a driving range to continuously improve my driving and wood/hybrid.
I am getting some improvements in each but my putting has been a challenge.
Distance, how to not over putt by 7 foot or equally under putt significantly.
Slopes confusion is continuous. I would be happy just learning how to lay it up. Get it close enough for a chance.
I do a decent job of getting on the green in 2 on a par 4 and 3 on a 5. But I can 3 putt the life out of some holes.
Any practice tips or video would be well received.

Can anyone tell me if they have a big selection of merchandise at these two courses?
My son saves his money specifically for these events and likes to add to his collection. Head covers, flags and shirts are what he likes the most. Appreciate any feedback.

We play Aug 1 and 2nd.
I work inside all day so the heat is a nice change. As long as it doesn’t get rained out because our window for this trip is short and narrow. He moves back to college the following weekend.
We have breakfast in the clubhouse both mornings and he is saving his money for merchandise. I feel like a kid thinking about this trip and hope to come back with a good reports.

I hope it has improved or is better than you claim. The price tag on The Players is ridiculous. It’s a Father/Son trip and the older I get the more rare these have become. As long as he enjoys the trip that’s a win for me.
We are excited about 17 and congratulations on the par.

Second this.
I have had multiple Axis and I do love some Nilgai. The best by far is the American Bison. If you have never eaten it, it is the perfect meat. Nothing like store bought bison. The bonus is you kill a small one and still get plenty of meat. My son downed an 800 pound bison 4 years ago and we stacked the freezer. The wife and daughter loved it and it cooked well in any dish.

Taking me son on a golf trip before he goes back to college. We are heading to TPC Sawgrass to play both courses. Saturday we play at Dye’s Valley course and Sunday at The PLAYERS Stadium course.
Anyone here played these course?
I would like to hear about your experiences and any recommendations or things you wish you would have done in the area.

Your correct. There’s only two guys on Florida sites that really have inside info. I am only going by what they say and they haven’t wavered from their statements.

Florida has only had one serious candidate and that’s Lane Kiffin. It has always been Kiffin.

No, I have no money it all belongs to her.
I am sorry to hear of your constant pain. I can not imagine what it must have been like to have such a wonderful father. You are very fortunate to have had such a great example. It’s amazing to hear the men on here talk about their hero fathers and best friend. My dad never chose to be around. He cared more about his life and women than my sister and me. Somehow God gives me the grace to always be home for my children and love them in a manner in which I had wished of my dad. I think the memories of his life is what fuels me to be such a loving, providing father to my kids.
You all on here with great fathers are very fortunate to have had them. I wish you peace and happiness in your daily lives as you remember the good memories.

The more you make the more it costs.
Increase tax brackets.
Increase lifestyle. Not talking $75,000 truck but if you live in Louisiana, then your kids go to private school. You pay for their college because earners pay tuition, poorer kids go for free through Pell grants and state aid.
Success actually increase your need to be more successful because in the end you pay more.
I have about $40,000 in property taxes coming due next month.
It’s the price you pay for success

If the economy brings in between $500M and $1T to the economy, how about giving tax payers a break.
It would be a welcome relief not to hand over 60% of income to taxes.
