Hard to argue about the mentality of this team, but PSG are an amazing squad who are probably favorites to win this competition again.
Hate to see Ekitike go down with a non contact injury.

But what’s the play? Bring in Alonso who couldn’t handle the Real job. Are we certain he can be the man at a big club?
This team is in transition. Big Virg has had some amazing years at Liverpool, but he has also been the cause of some issues on the back line. I think the RB transition/injury situation has been a big issue. We keep putting midfielders back there because of a lack of depth. TAA wasn’t the best defender, but he was a great distributor on offense. I think it was time for Andy to go as well, but after a slow start I think Milos is starting to get more comfortable.
I like Slot’s calmness under the circumstances. He stepped into big shoes and was carried by Salah’s amazing year for sure, but he brought home the premier league title. Yeah, he spent a lot in the summer, but he also lost a lot. I don’t think him coming back is gambling on a CL spot.
Will see how it plays out. Good win today. Hope City can take all the points from Chelsea.

I’m hoping Slot stays. I know most others that post on here are over him and ready for the sack.
At his last club, his style was effective and his first year here we obviously did well. Does no one believe he can get it right with this squad if he gets another chance next season and maybe a somewhat normal offseason?
The Man City game was horrible and the team looked like dog shite at PSG. I have a small amount of faith that we can still win that tie. If he gets bounced by PSG, but guides Liverpool to CL football next year, I think year 3 will be much better.

Feeling pretty much the opposite of last year when we played PSG. Hoping that Salah looks better against Mendes than he did last season. Need some magic from Wirtz and Ekitike.

They are definitely packaging some of those 4th/5th round picks to move up and get some small school athletic freak they fall in love with.

Salah didn’t quit on him. Salah is washed. He can’t beat anyone off the dribble. His shots have been horrible. Defenders want him to get the ball. Slot should tell him produce or you won’t play a full 90 anymore.
The team hasn’t soft quit. lol. Wirtz missed an opening goal opportunity that most professionals should make.
The team is not sharp at the moment, but blaming Slot is such an easy out.
Ekitike needs to be more clinical.
Salah is washed.
Gakpo is no Luis Diaz and he hasn’t produced. No argument there.
Rio has looked great at times, but is still very young.
We need Wirtz to get back in playing shape and that will improve our entire game. Our offense needs to improve so that every game doesn’t come down to a last minute outcome.
Istanbul is a difficult place to play. We gave up a cheap goal and obviously could have given up more, but we also should have scored at least 2 on our own. Coming back to Anfield next week, with no away fans, we should be able to win this tie. And then hopefully we get to make things right after losing to PSG last year.
We changed out half of our team this year and have had an injury crisis at RB. Our most expensive signing of the summer was out of shape and then as soon as he started to get it together, he had an injury.
Hopefully, EPL gets 5 spots and we make it back to UCL.

Looked like it missed his hand and went off his upper leg.

Wirtz has to make his first opportunity.
That was a pretty deflating miss by Ekitike. Not the easiest, but he should have scored.
Chances are there. Have to capitalize.

Bwahahahaha
This game feels similar to Tuesday so far…They are a little more aggressive, but don’t feel overly threatening.

Wirtz back. On the bench, but still promising to see him involved again.

I think most anticipated it would be a tough place to get all 3 points, but that was tough to watch.

At what point do we see Rio come on today? Does Slot protect Salah’s feelings and bring him on for Gakpo?
I’m expecting a goal from braided Szoboszlai.

I hope Konate signs a new contract with Liverpool: He has an injury history and struggled a bit earlier in the season, but I hope stays. He is a top defender.
He would fit in well in Madrid. He’s used to covering for Trent which would probably help Madrid unlock Trent’s offense. Ugh.
Also, not liking this noise from Wirtz’s agent already.
