I have to say my Texas alum friends have been shockingly level headed on this issue. Bama and OM friends have solidified my belief that both fan bases are mostly retarded.
I was gifted a few Ryobi tools in the early 2010s as a house warming gift so I've just stuck with them. Only had one spotlight fail and I dropped in a brackish duck pond so not the lights fault.

No complaints for light use around the house and camp.

Basin crawfish is what we called them.

Swamp crawfish vs rice field field crawfish
Chicot State park has some cool trails. I've only hiked them but I feel like I have seen bikes.

I have taken my boys to Grosse Savanne several times for birthdays, etc. Its really great for kids, tons of fish on beginner friendly techniques. Senkos, flukes with bullet weight in the front, easy to throw, zero experience needed. Get it in the water and you'll get bit.

We've had 75 fish days up to 5-6 pounds.

We dont stay at the lodge, that's $$$$ for "fun trips".

Xpress .125 vs Ranger .100 hull thickness would push me towards xpress but I am rough rough on equipment
Are you seeing ads in AI now?

I use Claude every day at work and have never seen anything commercial, but I guess if I asked it what toilet paper to buy that could happen.
They smell pretty strong for a while. They were a hot topic with the wife for probably 6 months but I put mine straight in my garage apartment. Should have aired them out

re: What brand of gym shorts do you wear?

DCG 6" is my go to for cheap shorts (from Dicks). I am 6'3", 190, may be long for you but they may have a 4-5"

I have been gifted Vuori, Birddogs, Motier, Lululemon which are all nice shorts but I am too rough on stuff to buy $50+ gym shorts

You're never really "ready"
There will never be enough money or time
Turning a child/teenager into a decent person in 2026 is more of a challenge than keeping a baby alive.

*4 kids, 45 years old, so so tired
I am usually a straight 20% guy but on the 6 pack trips Freeman type trips we are usually closer to 15% because of the high cost.

Same for multi-day hunting trips.

For $600 bass/sac a lait trips I stick with 20%.

You should be good in that range.

I think there are a couple of guides that post here and can tell you whether I am an a-hole or not. lol
Couple of aggies I work with turned out to not be total weirdos.
