Is there enough space in the gap on either side of the tailgate to fit something thin, but sturdy(butter knife, flat pry bar, putty knife) where the latch is and depress it?

"Last night on the way back from Colorado we pulled into a @courtyardmarriot @marriottbonvoy off of I40 in Amarillo,TX on our way back to Lafayette,LA. In the middle of the night our U-Haul with all of our stuff including all of our 3 kids Christmas presents was stolen from the back of our vehicle from the Courtyard Marriot parking lot.
If you see a 5x8 U-Haul with Florida Plates #GGF383 please report to Amarillo PD at (806)378-9452 Case # 25-519773
We are all ok and safe and back on the road, it’s just stuff and we are grateful for our many blessings but please let me know if you happen to have any info! (337)356-8643 Big thanks to Amarillo PD for showing quickly and being awesome professionals."
