Please specify what part of the Arkansas Criminal Code upon which you are relying that provides this player has a defense to crime. You can’t do so? That’s what I figured. Thanks.

In a situation where fans rush the field at a college football game in Arkansas and make contact with an opposing player, several laws and penalties could be broken. Below is a comprehensive list of all possible laws and penalties that are broken within the state of Arkansas :

1. Criminal Trespass (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-39-203)

• Definition: Entering or remaining unlawfully in or on a property (such as a football field after a game).
• Penalties:
• Class C misdemeanor: Up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500 if there was no intent to cause damage.
• Class B misdemeanor: Up to 90 days in jail and a fine up to $1,000 if the person knowingly enters a restricted area.

2. Battery (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-13-201 to 5-13-203)

• Definition: Battery involves intentionally or recklessly causing physical harm to another person.
• Degrees:
• Third-degree battery (reckless physical contact that causes injury):
• Class A misdemeanor: Up to 1 year in jail and a fine of up to $2,500.
• Second-degree battery (if physical harm is intentional or results in significant injury):
• Class D felony: Up to 6 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.

3. Assault (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-13-204)

• Definition: Threatening or causing a person to fear imminent harm.
• Penalties:
• Third-degree assault:
• Violation: Typically punishable by a fine of up to $500, but if intent to cause serious fear of harm can be shown, penalties could increase depending on the situation.

4. Disorderly Conduct (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-71-207)

• Definition: Engaging in behavior that disrupts public order, such as creating a hazardous or offensive condition.
• Penalties:
• Class C misdemeanor: Up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.

5. Rioting or Inciting a Riot (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-71-201 & 5-71-202)

• Definition: Participating in or encouraging a group to engage in violent or unlawful behavior, such as a mob rushing a field.
• Penalties:
• Class A misdemeanor (if there is a risk of injury or property damage): Up to 1 year in jail and a fine up to $2,500.
• Class D felony (if serious injury or extensive property damage occurs): Up to 6 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.

6. Reckless Endangerment (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-13-205)

• Definition: Acting in a way that creates a substantial risk of physical injury to another person.
• Penalties:
• Class A misdemeanor: Up to 1 year in jail and a fine up to $2,500.

7. Public Intoxication (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-71-212)

• Definition: If a fan rushing the field is under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the extent that they pose a danger to themselves or others.
• Penalties:
• Class C misdemeanor: Up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.

8. Harassment (Ark. Code Ann. § 5-71-208)

• Definition: Engaging in behavior with the intent to harass, annoy, or alarm another person, which could apply if fans are taunting or aggressively approaching players.
• Penalties:
• Class A misdemeanor: Up to 1 year in jail and a fine of up to $2,500.

Civil Liability

• The opposing player or their team could also file a civil lawsuit for damages if the fan’s actions result in injury or harm. This could include compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.

University or NCAA Sanctions

• Bans or Restrictions: Fans involved in rushing the field could be banned from future games or stadiums.
• Fines or Penalties to the School: The NCAA or conference could impose fines or other penalties on the university for allowing fans to rush the field, which is typically against safety protocols.

In summary, potential penalties in Arkansas for rushing the field and making contact with a player could range from small fines and short jail terms for misdemeanors to more significant prison time and fines if serious injury occurs. Civil liabilities could also arise from the incident.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes , there is a reason a fine are issued to universities for going on to the field . You are not entitled to run on the field period. Run past an opposing team that lost in the heat of the moment and be a jackass you get what you deserve . Don’t feel bad for the idiots running through any of Tennessee players and bumping into them and talking shite .

The fans if anything should be arrested in fact here are the rules and laws “access to competition areas shall be limited to participating student-athletes, coaches, officials, support personnel and properly-credentialed individuals at all times. For the safety of participants and spectators alike, at no time before, during or after a contest shall spectators be permitted to enter the competition area. It is the responsibility of each member institution to implement procedures to ensure compliance with this policy”
Listening to Kelly interviews and reading the tea leaves I was gonna say he was coming back , this solidifies it. Questions is does he play in bowl game?

No not as good as LSU fans would have you believe . Nick Saban started DBU , Then Ron Cooper , then Corey Raymond. However Corey Raymonds last two years pass ranking 2020 127th
2021 91st . He is fading need new blood.

Should we kick the tires with Cooper again or try fresh blood?

Let me guess... The legislature will be spurred by public outrage to call a veto session. The press will make much hubbub about it, there will be tweets and press conferences by state legislators about doing the will of their voters and then... they'll fail to override it. Just like last time.

You do realize there is 105 in the house, 64 republicans and 38 democrats and 3 independents. In order to pass an override you have to have 2/3 majority (70) which includes getting democrats on board , 3 to be exact and only if you get all republicans and all independents. That is the problem which is assuring you get 3 democrats and everyone else .
